Thread: My first buff...

Omg this was so funny.
I was grinding medic and doc today (made it to 0/2/2/1 in doc)
I average about 175 to 400 xp healing people with stim B's
Finally I get all the skills needed to make a enhance (buff) pack and test it out.....
My fingers tremble as I create each sub component, making sure the experimentation is as high as it will go.
Then sweat rolls down my face as I assemble my first Enhance Action Pack.
Wait for the crafter to sput out the item....
Done!
I look at a friend of mine and ask if I can test the buff on him.
"Sure" he says.
I pause, smiling, waiting for the screen to flash up the XP I get....
"You enhance UberLooters Action by 94 points"
"You gain 74 points Medical Experiance"
I did not know if I should laugh or cry 
Back to healing the sick and tumblers for me

That's an awfully low number for an Enhance. Are you certain he wasn't already buffed? I made A's back last year when I was still a wee Novice, and they did at least several hundred points, and they used non-Advanced everything, just 900+ flora and inorganics.
Besides, I think you got a break.. the XP you get is normally one half the amount of the buff. So you should have gotten 47 XP. Think of it as getting 27 extra XP for free.

He might have overwritten the buff? If so, shouldn't he get it for the whole amount? Might be something to test out... I maxxed medical a long time ago so I never get xp anymore - but it would be worth looking into...

If you overwrite a buff, you only get XP for the difference between your buff and the previous buff.

sorry to prove you wrong but having just ground CM and being a Master Doc I did most of my xp grinding by buffing at Mining Outpost on Dant first without a droid and then with a 110 droid and can confirm you get the FULL xp from overwriting buffs !
