Thread: IDEA: A Way for Healers to do Business with Non-Healers

I am posting this on all of the "healer threads," so i can get maximum input. Anyway, here it goes:

I thought that if Medics, Combat Medics, and Doctors could all make stuff that other people, no matter their profession, could use. Now to make things fair, these "usable-by-everyone" things can't be that good. An example would be a medic making stimpacks usable by anyone. The only problem is that these stims give no xp, and really don't heal for much. But, they would still be useful to people with no healing abilities at all. And maybe Combat Medics could make some kind of poison or something like that that is weak, gives no xp, but once again, is helpful to those with no Combat Medic skills. These things would allow medic professions to do business with people other than other medics.

I had more ideas on this topics when i went to sleep last night, so if they pop up in my head again, i'll post them. Please post any feedback you have (positive or negative). Maybe the Devs can make something good out of this. Who knows...

This actually would ruin all of the current medical economy. Everyone would drop novice medic that only keeps it for stim b's, therefore making the stim B market completely ruined and making everyone buy the new ones. The new ones would sell for less, and all those that don't need to keep medic would gain an automatic 15 sp. Would be much like letting those without scout harvest.

Good thinking, but probably wouldn't work too well .

Good point, Dejik, but if people dropped medic for this reason, would that be bad? It would just mean more money for the people that don't drop it.

Not a bad idea

I kind of disagree about the combat medic equipment, though. I think it should be limited to healing tools. I also think that it would be cool if stimpacks were very random for non-healers, so they could heal themselves for a number of points randomly picked between maybe 1 and 100. It makes sense, since a person not skilled at healing would have a tough time getting consistant results

It wont happen. SWG is a group oriented game, and implementing this would only further reduce any need for medics, and take away business from chefs (and to a lesserdegree, artisans), who solely rely on food salesto make money.N00bs who have no healing ability should be encouraged to group with a medic instead, or at least take novice medic. They are n00bs after all, and should have a spare 15 skill points.

I dont think this would be too bad of an idea. Like if they made stim A's 0 MU. Ive never expiremented with an A, but I would guess the max power you could get would be less than 100. This wouldnt heal for a whole lot, but it would be very beneficial to people like MBH's who dont have alot of extra SP to put into medic. It wouldsave them alot of'down time' waiting for stats to regen, but wouldnt really be too beneficial during combat. I think alot of people would still keep novice medic for the ability to use 400+ power B's that can actually heal for a decent amount. But then again it would be kinda unfair to people that do spend the extra SP to have novice medic.

What MasterNerfSlayer said. If anything, I hope they make it harder for people to be self sufficient, not easier.

It's already a rare enough when people ask me to group, and even then it is much more likely they just want an "ub3r l33t poison spammer" for PvP combatthan a real healer for either PvP or PvE combat...
