Ummm, you make a schematic and then you put the schematic and the ingredients in a Food and Chemical Factory and then you press the start button?

no flame, but you sound new to this. It is very simple. Here are my tips for working with factories.

1) They are a great source of storage space. The ingredient hopper and the output hopper both store 100 items each. Everything I make in a factory stays in the output hopper untill transfered to ingredient hopper/vendor

2) Know that factories do not give crafting experience

3) umm can't think of anything else. They are very straight forward. Good luck.

oh and remember, you can name your products when you set the # of items for the schematic.
