Thread: Doc should have mindheal not CM

Does anyone else think that the doc proffesion should have the mindheal ability and not CM? I think of mind as a mental awareness which the term "doctor" works for. A "doctor" is not just a physical healer only, they can be phsycological healers like phsycologists (cant spell that) They treat people for mental problems which is why i think that a doctor should be able to heal mind and not a comabt medic. Combat medic is someone who can heal others in comabt from far away and use their medical abilities to use poison and disease, they are not phycicologists or mental healers to me. Anyone else agree?

no, I don't agree. For one reason. IMO, you are wanting the doctors combat role to be improved. But, that is why there are combat medics. Doctors are not meant to be in the heal all in the midst of a battle. The combat medic is. The combat medic keeps the soldiers fighting as long as possible: area healing, ranged healing, and mind healing. All with the purpose of a "Quick fix" in the middle of the battle. We can hang back and do the serious healing: states, cures, wounds, rez, buffs. But people have to come to us for the most part. That is my view. Let the CM keep them in the battle as long as possible, we'll prepare them before hand, and heal them after, with a field surgery and defib here and there.

I agree that doc's shouldn't have mind heal either, and with the coming combat balance, who knows how important it will be.
If anything, it should shared with dancer/musicians to give them additional battle field abilities, but CM only is fine with me, as per your RL analogy of a pyschiatrist, I don't think that therapy and xanax or zoloftwould do much on a battlefield.
My short time playing as a master CM was a real pain because using mind heal really stacks up the CM'smind wounds in a hurry.
Doc's have their role on the battlefield, especially if they have combat skills to back it up. Healing states, poison, disease, etc are all important tasks, and keep us from being relegated to pre/post fight activities only the way dancers/musicians are, but also don't make us unbalanced super fighters either.
CM's don't deserve any more nerfs except to fix the bugs (such as poisoning beyond 64 M), and doc's don't really need or deserve that much more power.

I know a lot of doctors go into battles and are needed for their rez abilities and the cure poisons/diseases/states. When it comes to healing while in combat though I beleive a Combat Medic is the one that heals while fighting. A CM has the ranged heals and has the ability to heal mind. Healing mind is really only required in combat. Other then the state heals though, a docs arsenal in the battle feild can all be completed when the battle is done.
If that ramble isn't clear then I'll state is directly. I beleive if only one class can heal mind then I beleive it should be the CM.
But, rumors keep pointing to the fact that once the rebalance hits, mind heals will be readably accessible.

Could you imagine a Doctor that could heal his own mind? The only way that I die right now is if my mind gets taken down, but as far as action or health this is impossible because of my stim e's. If I was able to shoot my mind up to full whenever I wanted I literally would be invincible. Now think of everyone figuring that out and going Doc, and then everyone gets to be God, and our prof would be over-run by morons...blah blah blah.
Just lots of angles that you have to think about for this subject. Like the idea, I personally wouldn't mind becoming a god

CM's can't heal their own mind for this very reason, and it causes large wounds and BF to their mind to heal others so 2 CM's can't team up together to get unlimited mind....blue milk will heal mind, but we have stomach capacity to limit that.
I think things will be very diferent after the combat balance, and healing mind will not be such an issue. Until then, I don't think the dev's will make any change that is larger than a small bug fix to anything, and I doubt that anyone gets a "god" mode class, although there will still be imbalances and prefered strong templates.

I think CMs should not only have mind heal, but the ability to heal states. That seems like more of a Combat Medic job because states are only applied while in combat.

This will imbalance the medic proffesions, and after publish 10 (probably) would make CM useless.

Mind is healable after the rebalance isn't it? So it won't matter anyway...
