I've been out of the game for awhile. I have character who has enough skill points to either rez ppl or buff ppl. Which one do you fellow docs find more useful in group play?

I'd suggest buffing, it's WAY easier.

As for group play, I really don't think doctors are even needed in groups anymore. Buffs and armor and weapons have gotten to the point where no one ever dies much less gets hurt. I went out with a group once and forced them to take their armor off while fighting Enraged Rancors. No one got hit.. ever. For 5 hours of hunting I got 1700 medical XP from healing.

Sure they are useful for curing poisons and diesase, but waiting around for that isn't fun.

But if you're looking for XP, buffing is where it's at.

I have to disagree with people not needing rez's since they are desperatly needed in the DWB, and other high level spots (nightsister caves, sometimes geo bunker, andbase raids).

Hello ShufIrathe,

I believe rez is more important than buffs during group play. My views, however, is heavily influenced by the type of group I usually join. 9 out of 10 times I team-up with non-solo/non-uber leet players that *need* to group with others to be able tosurvive (I hunt in Dant). Half of the people are unbuffed and wearing non-composite armor. 1 or 2 people in the team ends up dying in the middle of a battle (even buffed vets that get whacked through their mind pools). In a group like this, having even one man down in the field can prove fatal to the rest.

A couple of nights ago, I teamed up with a group where some people didn't use buffs by choice. Instead, they were managing their HAM, having other team members /taunt their opponents if they needed to heal (mainly mind), melee up front and shooters in the back, plus a Squad Leader. I was doing heals, cures, states, /dragincap, rez like crazy. Got 25-30k XP if I remember correctly (I was less than 50% to make a level 4 skill and it was max afterwards with some leftover). Each rez was 700-900 XP. You'll make up the XP to learn buffs in no time.

Good luck,

-D
