There are a ton of things that you need, please try the advance search option, since we get about 5 types of questions a week (I think you need:dolovite iron, herbavore meat, reactive gas, avian meat, lokian wheat, tatooine fiberplast, dantooine berry fruit, and domesticated oats, but I am not sure ( I am trying to remember off of the top of my head). Also initially you will need a lot of harvestors (moisture vaporator, energy harvestors, chemical extrators, mineral mining units, gas harvestors, and agricultural harvestors), but after you have enough for medium class buffs, you can only use them for good spawns. Unless you are rich, you do not want to purchase heavy harvestors, light is good for small amounts of buffs, meduim is good to stockpile stuff.

Check the FAQ for information on how to make the goods we make.
As for being a doctor and maintaining it, it is very expensive to get going, but considered well worth it; especially for pvpers or ones who need to buff themselves alot at odd hours of the day.
In truth though a master ranger/master combat will probably have a better time just harvesting meat spawns for the doctors and selling them for 100-200cpu than actually putting in all the boring time consuming work of factory runs and waiting around for them to finish.

To use the top buff packs, you must be 0240 doctor. In order to get that, you would have to drop ALL of ranger and still trim 25 skill points from the scout tree. This is assuming you have nothing but master Rifleman, master medic, master scout, and doc 0240.
Good quality stimBs (at or near 400 power) and novice medic is usually all that you will need if you use armor. Get buffs from the, hopefully, readily available buff doctors in the big city, and go kill stuff...

Like the person above said to use good Stim B's you just need Novice Medic, To use Stim D's you would need to be a Master Medic to get the needed Med use unless someone experimented the med use down on the stim D but i haven't heard that. To buff yourself above 2000 you would need D level buffs with med use at 90 or below and be a Doc 0040 at min i beleive. So if you have armor just use good stim B's and buy buffs if needed

To solo things then don't waiste your points on Doc. You can always get a buff from a doc.
The key to solo'ing anything is simple to make sure you can do the damage type that the mob is vulnerable to. That is about it. For example, TK is great but there are many mobs like NS Elders that are 100% resistant to kin. damage which is the only type of damage a TK does.
If your just talking NPC and creatures then I would stick with melee classes. Master Swords for sure, add in a bit of fencer, and add 2000 of tk to get the meditation line. You may want to fit in a bit of medic so you can stim yourself.
I suggest swords mostly becuase they use kin and blast damage and it is rare to find a mob that is 100% resist to both. Also, I believe they have the best dps agains most high end mobs.
I suggest the fencer mostly for the def and you get astun damage weapon as well.
I suggest the tk meditation line so you can up your mind pool with powerboost. In the end 90% of the time you get killed is due to the mind pool so every bit helps.
Again, if your just out to solo as much as you can then don't spend your points on doc.
This answer is pre combat rebalance. After the balance, it is any mans guess.
