Thread: Farewell to the profession....I'm Back!!!!!!!

I just want to say good bye to the Doctors of SWG....
I am a Master Doctor..and I did it the old way, healing in the med center for hours on end, hand crafting each and every pack to make it up the crafting tree slowly.(took nearly 3 months). But I did it.
Why would someone who spent so much time getting a profession give it up??
1. Too many holo docs undercutting the prices for a quick buck at the top
2. Too many holo docs eating up the resources just to grind!
3. Too many holo docs period.
(Don't get me wrong, I do the holocron thing too, but I do it slow and try to have fun immersing myself in the new profession--case in point it has taken me almost 4 months to get close to finishing my second holo, and I have 3 more waiting)
4. BUFFS SUCK NOW
5. BUFFS SUCK NOW
6. I am tired of the grief i get--Are your buffs any good they ask? Everyone else hits over 3K they say--bull**edit**, I am tired of defending my wares to everyone. It is not worth it anymore.
I wish you all the best of luck in the profession, who knows, maybe I will be back again sometime after a little sabatical. I have thought about perhaps trying combat medic maybe for a bit, or perhaps Architect, or Bio-engineer--they could be cool!

That is a shame....but totally understandable. I wish you luck on your journy...Farewell....

The upcoming changes to Jedi should put a stop to the holo grinding. Once this happens the only doctors you see will be the ones that actually want to be one. This should make for a lot more stability in all the professions since people can keep their favorite profession and still work towards Jedi.

I'm not doing the holo thing. I enjoy the profession. I'm always shaking my finger at the tumble freaks and hungry mms ..argh. If you sell that stock off, send me a tell

I am back, and happy to be here. I just re-mastered doc again tonight(took me 2 weeks). Came back because most of the complaints I had before, have been fixed.

Welcome back, I hope you'll find Master Doctor as rewarding as you must have done before the holo-madness started.

Sad to hear you leaving the profession Densin .... hope you find a profession that is rewarding to you during your grind.
I admit, the fact they are doing away with holo-grinding finally will hopefully bring some needed stability to the professions out there and the peeps like me who dont holo-grind yet do a profession b\c they want to and enjoy it.
Cailid I totally agree with you at this point, I think the upcoming patches will help in this area.
But for now I am finally up to 0/3/3/0 in Doctor tree and so far loving it ...
