Thread: Most embarrassing moments

I've been busy play-testing the FS medical quests on TC2 for a few days, hammering out cute little cures for patients that by all rights should be dead. In the process of crafting the meds, the middle experimenting bar was the primary factor, as OQ of the resources demanded it. So, for days on end, I'm plugging away at that center bar, hour after hour...

Flash forward to tonight on my Live server, where I'm crafting my 945 power enhance D's, using my uber stuff, and low and behold, I look at the finished product and it turns out as a 421 power, 1 hour and 12 minute duration buff, using all my magic. I'm in guild chat and immediately panic, thinking the small download today (patch_10.tre) must have been the nerf to end all nerfs. I check all my resources, check that my components weren't cannily switched by one of my tricky guildmates as a joke, ensure that in fact, I'm actually making a D and not a C, and I come to the scary conclusion that it's here. The end of buffs as we know them. I'm almost about to post a screenshot here of the most hideous, gimped Enhance D ever made.

My guildies are all scrambling, hell, one of them almost dropped Doc (Sorry Jae) and I'm checking the boards here to see if I'm in the dark. Nope, not a peep about the "nerf".

"Log out and try again, it must be a bug," they scream in GC.

I do, and then I notice, the Enhance D has a Med Use of 70 instead of 91.

Hee hee, oops...

One of my less-then-stellar moments came one day when I recieved a distress call via tell from someone who ran a search on me and for my Master Doc title. They needed a res la de da but when I get there, they have already been dead too long. Now most of you might be saying it happens to a lot of people right? Well this happened about 3 more times during the same play session hehe.

Only time I can think of embarassing moments is when I misplace resources. I've sent in tickets with CSRs going "wait 24 hours and the item will show up"... Like how i recently dumped a crate of ALS in a bag with my combat med resources in it. Well i'm not a combat medic... and I never check that bag unless i'm about to run ADMs (Thanks Anna/Nat for the schems)... heh...

Stomach is full after eating Havla to get your customers on the await shuttle, then realizing your Bivoli just ran out and your Droid is dead and you have no batteries. That's scary...

Eeeeh. The first time I ever tried to buff the public, that happened to me. In Coronet, during peak hours, probably a line of 15-20. But it wasn't really my fault, everytime that damn shuttle plopped down, my PC would hang and I'd have to restart. Then, logging back in, my stomach would still be full, but my Bivoli would be gone, and my droid would be out of power. It was fun trying to reply to 100+ tells, as soon as I got back in, lol.

A few days ago I was stocking my med vendor when a friend gives me a yell that his PA is getting raided and they need a doc to help out.

So I was done moving things round anyway so I run over to the shuttle, hop a few planets (some how I made every shuttle just in time), and get there to find a big battle going on.

I pull out my droid and start to buff myself... Opps no meds on me. Nothing. I had taken my med backpack off to transport all my stock.

Talk about feeling a little necked.

My most embarrasing doctor moment.

I'd been hired as an escort for the DWB. A team of 25 was counting on me and a couple of other docs. I spent all week organizing my gear, buying foods, ordering special armor, getting good weapons, loading crates into droids, making buff packs and reorganizing my entire inventory.

We get down into the third room when both of the other docs are instantly vaporized by an SBD spawn. I move to rez them only to realize... I had forgotten to repack ALL my rez kits. I check my droids. Nothing.

That was seriously embarrassing.

Addendum: Fortunately someone had a couple of packs and like a SWG Philippides they ran the DWB unbuffed to give me the packs. They died reaching me, but we traded while they were dead. The day was saved, but my face still burns.
