Hi guys/gals,
Just a question that was put to me last night. What are docs doing to combat the credit dupe scam? There are lots of people getting accounts banned due to someone buying something from there vender with dupe creds so i was wondering how long will it be until docs start getting banned for someone paying for a buff with dupe creds. I for one think it sucks and it is something we do not always have control over.
Just a thought and any answers or feedback would be apperciated.

Prolly why theres not been many people buffing recently..
Who wants to get banned for doing an game "job"... but from what ive heard its more likely to be people transfering huge amounts of cash

I am going to continue to play as I normally do. I look at it like this: Credit duping exists because of crappy coding from the SWG Devs. They need to fix their bug. I play honestly, buff honestly, hell - I even tip back the extra credits I sometimes get when I buff with a tell of "No worries 
I would feel guilty if you paid more than others" Call me lame, but do unto others.
If I get banned for accepting an average 10k tip for buffing, and that moron of a patient duped his credits, then screw Sony and hello other MMORPGs coming out this winter. I wouldnt want to pay residuals to company that imposed such an unfair and unfounded policy. And I would be filing a complaint with the BBB.
The devs need to **edit** this duping thing in the bud ASAP. Its good for nobody. Ruins the economy. Also, I have seen many people too scared to play their character the way it was meant to be played. Crafters and Merchants should sell, Doctors should heal and buff, crystals should be sold, and resources should be harvested WORRY FREE from getting banned. I already seen one of my Doc suppliers take away their stock for fear of getting banned - which hampers MY business!

i agree, the fact that they are just going to ban you if you somehow got these duped credits is ridiculous...they need to actually look into the manner of how you got them, cause if you got them from running a vendor or something, i still don't get how someone else buying your stuff, without your involvment can get their finger placed on you as if you duped as well...

Also how are you supposed to stop another player from tiping you money? Some evil players could go around mass tiping other players just to get them banned!

there are people getting banned from that. i think a better system would be banning the tipper and taking the money away fromt he account it was tipped to. banning innocent people left and right cant do any good.

I don't think that they are going to be banning anyone for receiving 10-20k for a buff or just out of the blue for that matter so I'm not worried about buffing. There aren't an unlimited number of "auditors" that are going to be available to track every transaction even if it is logged. What is more likely is that like the IRS flags unusual tax returns, accounts are flagged if a transaction or transactions exceed a set amount in a short period of time. Of course no one knows the threshold for the IRS or for SWG, but you can make a pretty good guess. If you do get get hit by that random audit or somehow get linked to someones off-shore accounts, a reasonable auditor will see you are just a simple victimand dismiss you.
What would be a drag is if someone tipped you a lot more and you weren't paying attention. Generally I don't check whether or how much someone pays for a buff. I usually only buff the public when I have cash flow crisis and as a rule more people tip more than I request than don't pay.
