Hi, I am new to the Doctor profession and i was just looking for some basic tips on how to get started.
I play on lowca server and am a member of <-OK-> outkasts.
Do i need a factory for the things that say identical from factory crate or can i just make them myself?
What kind of resources do i need to make the best buffs at reasonable effort on my part(like i don't wanna have to travel to six planets to meet a one eyed gecko to get the waypoint of his cousins cantina that might know a place i could buy some.)
Anything else anyone would like to help me out on would be appreciated.
Valturen Koveras,
Master Doctor,
Master Combat Medic,
<-OK-> Citizen.

Yes you do need a factory for identicle components. First you need to figure out what kind of doc you want to be. Do you want to mass produce buffs for sale or just buff yourself and your guild members. If its the first you need high amounts of the component resources which include
Lokian wild wheat and Tat fiberplast for advanced bio controllers. On these i recommend focusing on charges first over power.
Dolovite iron and Domesticated oats for Advanced solid delivery shells. Can only experiment on power
Herbivore meat and Class 4 liquid petro. These are for your advanced chemical release mechs. Again power only.
Of the above resources Herbivore meat is the hardest to get mass quantities of. So if you get a good spawn of it hunt it and buy it as much as you can. Then next two resources you need are
Avian meat. You need high OQ, PE and DR the higher the better
Reactive Gas. OQ and DR as high as you can get your hands on
Avian meat and reactive gas have by far the biggest impact on the power of your buffs. You can get away with using less then perfect component resources but if your gas and avain suck so will your buffs.
Get yourself a few of each type of harvestor when a good spawn pops up jump on it. Wont be long and you will have plenty of all except Avian and Herb meat. It only takes between 1100 and 1400 units of avian to make a full crate of 50 buffs so that gives you an idea of how much avian you need.
Set yourself up in a research city and get a crafting apron both will help with your experimentation. Being 12 point doc does help but only being a 10 point doc wont kill ya ive been making a few buff factory runs and im within 20 points of power. Same med use but they usually have a charge or two on me.
Anyway theres a little bit of info but still plenty for you to discover. Have fun

well i dunno about your server but if you were on the eclipse server my advice to you would be to pick up a good fighting proffession, as doc isnt a good source of income at all and you often find yourself losing profit

go fellow lowcian!
Just FYI (server specific) but I buy my buffpacks on Lok, from a vendor in New Hope. There's a medic vendor there that sells good buff packs (my current ones are 907 power, 90 med use). Anyway, just thought I'd send a wave out to a fellow Lowcian. In fact, I think I just helped found a city kinda near yours.

He is a great tip... and I am not being a jerk... read the FAQ sticked above. There is really a ton of great info in them. When you are done, go read the artisian FAQ for more crafting tips. Then just play the game and when questions come up, come ask them.

If you want to know more about doc than half of the doc population currently in existence, it takes 10-15 minutes of your time. Read the stickied FAQ and the wonderful Agent's FAQ at iootnega.com
Maybe for some professions, the FAQs just list generic pieces of info that can easily be obtained on your own, but with the doc (and CM threads for that matter), you get more than just a grinding guide. You'll just have to take my word on it, but if I would've read the FAQ a year ago when I was a noob to doc, I would have made it through all of my problems much easier. Good luck with doc, I'm not on Lowca, but it's always nice to welcome new members to the doc community.
