OK I'm thinking of setting up a buff hotel type thing. Honestly if I'm in my hospital, and city isn't a medical specialization, would I get better buffs with my droid out in med center or will it not make a difference at all?

If you have your droid out inside your hospital, you get the droid's rating. If you're looking to do this AFK though, the droid battery will die after a short while. Truth be told, the only difference between a hospital and any other player building (house, cantina, GH, city hall, even player city clone centers) is that the hospital has an autoheal feature. All those buildings have a 100 heal rating.
