I just have a question about medical droids.

Im a novice medic and I would like to get a droid to assist me outside the med center. I was wondering if I could use a R2 unit, or do I have to use that Surgical droid?

ps Ive never owned a droid,

any droid can have the medical module (except a binary load lifter). Just ask for a droid with a level 6 medical module and a food/chem crafting station.

Just getting started up the Doctor tree andam going to aquire aSurgical Droid with a crafting station and 110 med use.

My question is, is there any benefitin grouping with the droid? Does groupingaverage our med use? Does grouping increase my ability to use more advanced meds?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

No grouping benefit whatsoever, wether it be with other healers or a droid.

How do you tell if your droid is a full 110 med Droid?

When you select it in your datapad, it will list on the left side all the commands and attributes. It should say there what the droids medical rating is.

i have never used a droid before either and i just hit master doc. I wanted to know how to use it. I mean does it just stay out while i buff or do i need to tell it a command?

The reason for a medical droid is so you don't have to be in a med center to heal or buff someone. These droids can also have a crafting station in them and can be handy to craft advanced meds while in an area where no public stations are (i.e. the whole planet of Lok).

Grouping w/ pets has some advantages and drawbacks (not to healing though).

Their level is worked into the group con.

1.) lower group con = lower mission payouts (maybe even lower level missions? mine don'yt change the missiosn I get.. but the pay goes down.)

2.) Mobs con higher and you get a little more XP for stuff (killing, harvesting [see below though] etc.).

Every group member can scout /harvest a mob. The more mebers in your group, the less each individual can get (though the total is still mroe then 1 person would have gotten if you all lumped it together). pets count for this, so group pets actually lower the amount you can /harvest (since they can't harvest)... this is also true of non-scout players.

Grouping does allow you to see the HAM of your bot... which should not be an issue unless something is trying to eat it.

I'm sure this is a stupid question but on a med droid what does stimpack delivery/stimpack capacity mean exactly.. also is 110 the highest medical rating you can get (normally)?

Thanks

A Doctor or Combat medic can load stimpack A's into it and then anyone grouped with the droid can request a heal from the droid. Its not very useful in the curret combat system, but of course things are changing in a couple months with the Combat System revamp, so how usefull it might be in the future is not known.

Yes

I didn't see this addressed on the FAQ anywhere, so I wanted to run it past some other docs.

I'm somewhat new to the game and was lucky enough to have a doctor in my guild who had an extra medical droid. He gave me a 2B-1 (or whatever it is) surgical droid w/ 110 med capability and food crafting station (no storage dangit!). I've been using the droid for a month or two now, and the other night when I logged in, I received a message that my droid's customization(s) were/are fading. Does this mean that pretty soon I will no longer be able to use it when I'm buffing in the starport, or does it just mean that the food crafting station will no longer work?
