Thread: Opened A Hospital-Finally!

Hey all! I have accomplished my toons dream, working in a hospital in a med town! Its in Azalus (dantooine)on Kauri, and there are two other docs that are there as well, Chayce and Goaki. Naturally, most everyone wants buffs, so we do that (2800+ stats), but we are atk docs, so if people need heals we do that too, and we pretty much just screw around with the customers and the guildies that pop in. Decorating the hospital has become sort of a guild hobby, everybody has brought by paintings and we just had arguably the best fish tank in swg built, its incredible! As one would expect, our customers are the chatty social type usually, with the occassional iminahurrycanyoubuffmeplease thrown in the mix.
Now as anyone that is from Kauri can tell you, there is an afk buff-bot king of the server named zeevo. Unfortunately our town is on the same planet as his buffing empire. No disrespect to him, because he's on and available at all hours for the uber-leet hunters. He charges 15k for a doc buff and a focus/mind buff. We charged 12k for slightly higher buff stats and are still working on getting a dancer/musician for mind buffs. Things got interesting when he un-afk'ed himself and payed us a visit. He was very nice, complimented our place, and then left. However about five minutes later someone appeared at the m.o. spamming a zeevo's special -both buffs for 8k. So we dropped our price to 6k and hoped for the best.
Im totally for economic warfare, Im lovingthis atm. Its great for the players to have options,its driving down the cost of a buff, so they win! I just hope that we can scrape by, as the inflation on our server is pretty high. There are more than enough people on the server for all involved to do well financially, and I dont think zeevo is out to shut us down; but Im not sure how long we will last if the prices forthe buffs themselves doesnt drop as well. Since we are atk its not like we can go out and lootand make mad money.Impretty sure things will even out as far as customers go, sinceour hospitals cater to different types of players. Im finding out that most people like atk docs,not only for the sparkling conversation
but for the lack of a door macro!I think some of the people that come to us are sick of waiting in line at zeevo's actually lol.

Anyway, thats our hospital, my latest swg love that I put 99% of my time into! Now for a funny related story! My guild is the biggest, meanest, most misguided bh guild on Kauri. We have a lovely ass-kicking reputation, which Im not so much a part of, but I do my best. Long story short, in my excitement I sent out a silly email that said 'if yo ham be leakin' you gots tobe seekin' our new Azalus hospital' to everyone on my friends list. I got several 'I'm not into suicide, thanks!' responses from some new jedi I had seen running around and decided to add to the list so that I could relay the names to guildies later. Good times!

Excellent! I'll add the wp as soon as I'm ingame. Though my guild has a doc/hospital where my buffs are free, I'll be certain to use this when he's afk... I definitely prefer interaction.

Cool! Chayce or Goaki should be there, Im moving atm, and after today I wont have an internet connection until the 28th or so. Hope you visit!

Been a doc since October '04, and the hospital has been open for about 2 weeks. The waiting around to get established was kind of boring, but the days of looping afk macros are soon to be over. People are now looking around for another viable atkbuff/heal option, and I'll be there along with my guildmates to help them out. Having 2 other docs available also helps us from going crazy with boredom, we do break free lol. But thanks for all the happy posts, always good to hear nice things from other docs!

People are now looking around for another viable atkbuff/heal option, and I'll be there along with my guildmates to help them out.
