Thread: Advice on new Doctor Character Please???
Hello all,
I need the advise of wise and masterful doctors.
I'd like to start a new character on a server and
would like to become either a Master Doctor
or Master Combat Medic.
Either way I'd still like to do a little combat with this character.
Having said the above:
What species make the best medics, and why?
Any other adivce you might give an aspiring doc?
Thanks!
in all honesty? zabrak you have an uber mind regen and you willpower and focus are naturally high which means more points to other stats, i have

hope that helps
Dark/ Despise
The Zabrak's are great for healing mind, but I went with a Mon Cal (although I originally started as an artisan, not a medic, but that's beside the point). I believe Mon Cals get a bonus to the mind pools. Honestly, either one is good as a doctor, but there's really no reason you can't use any species and be a good doctor.
When you start, I'd balance your pools somewhat (although favoring mind is always a good idea). As you move up into doctor, however, I'd recommend maxing out your Mind/Focus/Willpower pools and dropping everything else down. There are a couple reasons for this.
First, as a doctor, you can enhance everything but mind. Therefore, you can enhance the pools that you dropped to make them as high, if not higher, than your mind pool. Also, as a doctor, you can easily heal those pools - it's that mind pool that makes all the difference.
Second, dancer/musician buffs work on a percentage, unlike Doctor buffs. A mind buff from a master dancer will double your mind pool. That means that, if you have 900 mind, you'll end up with 1800 mind for the duration of the buff (likewise for Focus and Willpower). However, if you're like me and have your mind maxed out to 1300 points, you'll be at 2600 mind for the duration of the buff.
After using enhance D's on yourself, you'll find that your mind pool (at 2600) is probably still the smallest pool you have out of health, action, and mind - and that's a good day. ![]()
