Thread: Bug? Clothing Stats with +Med Use

I've had a clothing enhanced Wookiee Hood for a long time that modifies injury treatment/ wound treatment/ medicine use by +25. Yet if I drop my base stats below the med use of a product (e.g. i have 90 med use base stats and the product requires 95) it says i do not have the required skill level to use it 90/95.



My question is, is this working as intended? In my attributes bar, my medicine use shows+90/+115 because of my clothing. Why doesnt the clothing allow me to use this med product? Bug?

The ability for clothing to increase your medicine use skill has been removed from the game. Injury/Wound Treatment bonuses still work (up to +25 max), but the medicine use bonus is not taken into account. However, the "bug" would be that the bonus still appears on the character skill screen.


The problem was that people could get MUCH high med use through clothing than was realistic. In order to even things out, the devs removed the med use bonus from clothing quite a while ago.

Thanks for the head's up. I figured it was probably too good to be true to have a med use modifier like that.

Is there any talk of removing or increasing the Damage Healing/Wound Healing +25 cap? I would like to get a bous of +75 to both of those.

Its not really a cap on those. It is a cap on all skill enhancements. BE clothing mods and tape/armor skill mods are the same. +25 is the most you can get from enhancements of any kind.

I was under the impression that the +25 max was referring to the max bonus you can get per clothing item. Could someone point me in the right direction where I could find more info? (Preferrably something from SOE or Zarlor).


I tried doing a search but came up with mostly junk and auctions.

The cap is +25 TOTAL. Dev's confirmed that the cap is intentionally +25 and there is absolutely no consideration for raising it. (They already consider that +25 to be pretty darned powerful, and especially in the case of something like Experimentation, it is.) The bug is that your skillsheet with show more than a +25 total to a skill (whether from single or multiple clothing items) and it should only show +25.


They should probably not allow Med Use to show any plusses at all since there are still some old tapes and clothes that have the modifier but have never (and will never, for many very good reasons that Medics,Docs and CMs brought up before) work.


So to summarize:


+25 Cap total.


Med Use will never work.


Skill sheets are bugged and show more than +25.

just a quick clarification, sorry if this has been asked before didn't see it. Is the +25 cap, a cap on the addition to the skill. ie a80 wound treatment person could get max 105 skill? or is it a +25 cap over the 100 max? so I could have 80 skill and 45 points of enhancers for 125 skill.

it's +25, period. Not +25 over 100 max. but 80+25=105 would be max.
