Thread: New Buffing System, New Buffing Prices
I didn't find any official statement, could you throw me a link?
Thanks, I've traveled to endor and yavin4 for my customers in the past, but these packs I'm making tonight aren't cheap and my travel expenses are real, even if I have 3 million on me I'd like to save as much as possible for resources and auctions to continue to provide everyone with this service.
I'm trying to offer a choice for the newer players. 5k is very reasonable when I can hit 3000 on buffs for 2.5 hours. However I won't be buffing in Coronet all the time, I'm also switching to a PvP template (alongside Master Doctor). Therefore if people want quality buffs, after my week break, feel free to contact me in-game and I will travel for 10-15k.
I used to charge 12k/set... For the last 3 months or so... Just raised it to 15k the other day when I rolled out my 901 power 11.8k duration packs...
When I used to spend a lot of game-time hanging out and selling buffs, I had quite a few customers who would only buy buffs from me... I use a macro that gives my pack stats as well as my price, and since I started using it I've onlybeen questioned about the price a few times... As I see it, 15k is pretty reasonable given that my customers know that, for one, they're getting buffed with the best packs available on the server, and also that if they survive for the whole duration, they'll all wear off at the same time.
As for whether its worth it... Well, I'm a master doc/4-3-0-4 cm and a trickshot... With my own buffs, I can solo 40k rancor missions on dath. No pet, just me, buffs, armor, and maybe a muon. Even if all you can handle is baz nitches, 2 missions cover your buffs, your travel to and from dath, and leaves you a little extra.
Of course, buffs aren't my primary source of income. There's no doubt I'd sell more of them if I charged less, but it really isn't worth the time it takes to stop whatever I'm doing and pull out my droid for 6 or 8k. There are plenty of newbie docs using 700 power packs charging 6k -- they don't interfere with my business, and I certainly don't interfere with theirs...
For that matter, I almost always tip master dancers or musicains 8k for a buff -- although it doesn't cost them anything, they do have to be directed at me for a good 7 or 8 minutes. Their buffs may not last as long, but anyone who has done any pvp knows the value of a little extra mind...
Within the current game mechanics, buffs are all-powerful. With 4k health and 2k mind and a suit of 75 or 80% composite, I'm pretty hard to kill... You can be too, for only 15k! Makes sense to me... ![]()
(stims are way underpriced too, but that's its own rant...)

you are all terribly expensive
Tell it to the people who insist on selling avian meat at 100+ cpu. Snowballs roll downhill.
I hunt quenkers on Dant a bunch, and usually im the only doctor there. So when one wantsbuffs,I do what is human nature, monopolize. I give them great buffs for an extraordinary price. 30k!
I sell for 9k per set, and refund 1.5k/statif it falls below my "standards" (1200).
I will charge more now that I have some avian with OQ/PE/DR all above 900 (when I can find decent reactive gas that is).
Its all about what my time is worth to me. To get a factory run stack for each buff of the current Talus avian on Flurry, it took me hunting 5 days non-stop with help from friends (MDoc/MCM/scout hunting 1, with 1 skill point left over) so they will be paying for my effort.
And yes, we might be "terribly expensive" - but with my template, the BIGGEST mission I can get solo on an advanced planet is MAYBE 4k - while with my 3+ hour long, 2400 average buff, all wear off at the same time buffs, the same person with a "combat" template can pull 26k+ missions to the tune of 6-8/hour. They want that???? then I want 15k for my buffs...
