I am more than a little tired of having some low level doc hit me with a 100 buff while im trying to get healed in the med ctr or waiting for a shuttle. It has happened to me 3 times in the past week. Rediculous.

Nothing worse in my book. Leaves you with 2 options:

1. wait it out.
2. take a DB and decay.

Worst grief tactic in the game in my opinion and easily preventable.

It's Gameplay Issue #7,Enhance Griefing/Override&*

Here's the issue's associated text and Dev Response:

There is the possibility of griefing involved with buffs. Should a Doctor use lower level buffs on someone they could be, effectively, locked out from getting a better buff. Some other method of replacing lower level buffs should be allowed. Perhaps allowing a higher level buff to simply override and replace a lower level one, but not allowing a lower or same-level buff to be replaced (due to possible exploits in such a situation). Other possibilities include only allowing buffs on groupmates or those who have given /consent.

(*Dev Response:
Zarlor passed along the following summation from Ben “Marvelin” Hanson’s response on the Correspondent forum on 10/28/2003:

“Currently they are thinking they will go ahead and leave the variation as is, but enable us to overwrite existing buffs. There is the problem of determining which buff is better (is 500 strength, 3000 duration better than 750 strength, 900 duration?). But, they expect to figure something out there. (Anyone have any suggestions?)”

[Z’s Note; A poll was concluded on 12/1/03 regarding the question regarding power or duration which was overwhelmingly in favor of higher power buffs overwriting even a longer duration, but lower power, buff.]

I would like to see the ability to override somone ELSES buff. I think if people are allowed to overide their own buffs it will become a mess, going through entire buff packs untill you have 3300+ on every buff and people demanding that it be done over again.

Also if you come in after 2 hours and 55 mins and get buffed but the previous buffs were higher but they will go away in 5 mins then will it actually take the new buff or was a charge just wasted? Personally I think the consent system may work however most people can't understand how to /consent for a revive.

I think /consent would be a lot simpler to add. You only have to do it once per doc you use and it would completely eliminate the stealth buff problem.

as far as i can see 2000 > 1000 or what ever.....so cant they simply put in that if any buff u recieve is higher than the one you have now... in any stat then it simply overrides it? like say u had

1000

1000

1000

in your health etc then someone could buff you for 2000 in each, any little **edit**s cant buff u down to 600 in each or wot not

as for the you'd have "infinite buffs" etc

erm you still gotta pay us docs bwhahaha so tough lol

(is 500 strength, 3000 duration better than 750 strength, 900 duration?).

cant the 500 be overwritten and the 3000 stay the same? tis what i ment in previous post better way of explaining hehe.

or let the little **edit**s that do "ninja buffs" get a tef against everyone with a 1 million payout on there head so everyone can smack the crap outta them and share the loot bwhahaha erm hehe *walks of dreaming*

I dunno, seems like the rebuff of lesser buffs is overly complicated when you figure in things like duration etc...

Am I missing something that makes /consent not just the most obvious easy fix to this problem?
