If there are any pertinent questions you think I should be asking please post them as well.

1. Can anyone give some pointers on baseline resource stats to use?

2. What qualities should I simply overlook?

3. Is it reasonable to expect to find and use 900+ stats for everything, subcomponents included?

4. If so, how in the world do you pull that off?

5. How do you obtain them?

6. Should I spam Coronet for them? (That violates so manyof my morals and principles.)

7. How the heck do you pay for them?

8. Does anyone else think Tras might be a miserly hording so-and-so?

I appreciate any response.

1. Can anyone give some pointers on baseline resource stats to use?

There are lots of tricks to the trade. I have heard for example DR doesnt matter on sub-components for enhances.. just on the avian and gas used in the final build of it. Also the component that needs Lok Wheat, it is smart to only experiment on number of uses, not on power because you get more for your money. Little tricks like this.

I used to just be happy to get ANY rare resources.. making an ADVANCED compenent with CRAP still beats a normal component with good resources. Now that I am a veterin however I want 800+ on all important stats. Normally OQ/PE/DR but depends on what I am making.

It also has a 800 or 700 limit on what resources it will report, so it wont report the crap. Gathering all uber resources takes TIME and getting know other old docs.

2. What qualities should I simply overlook?

Use your tools to find out. Its very easy to know.. and impossible to memorize all of them. That URL above also has schimatics probably list whats important to each individual resource depending on WHAT your making. I pretty much only craft enhances so that's my focus.

3. Is it reasonable to expect to find and use 900+ stats for everything, subcomponents included?

Sure you can, if your rich and have the time to buy from older players. On the tarq trade forum uber leet rare resources go up for sale all the time. You may not get 900+ on everything but I think its possible to get 800+ also i assume you mean only on the stats that matter for that item. Cause I have never seen anything with 900+ on every stat.. If you dont have the money or time to look for it you just sit and wait. You be a doc as normal or play another proffesion while keeping your eye out and always knowing what new god resouces popped. For instance on tarq the second best dolvite iron ever has come, so I now have gotten 100k of it!!

4. If so, how in the world do you pull that off? see last questions answer.

5. How do you obtain them? Harvest, Barter, Buy, Kill, Cheat, Lie lol j/k

Basically you do some WORK!!!!! This is not easy stuff!

6. Should I spam Coronet for them? (That violates so manyof my morals and principles.)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The good respectable players IGNORE those anyways!! Get to know the BEST docs on your server, become friends and help each other out!!

7. How the heck do you pay for them?

I self my current buffs (hitting 1800 with no bivoli and 2200 if ihave a decent craft and bivoli) for 8k and i can sit for 3 hours and make half a million dollars if I am around when no other doc is (sunday mornings!) or I group with guild friends for high paying missions on dath and make 1 mil in a day.

8. Does anyone else think Tras might be a miserly hording so-and-so?

what?

Yes, it takes a long time to put together the quality resources you need unless you are loaded to the gills..

P.S. Nice responses Dr. Elation

That is different for every med and for every doc's standards. Personally I only use the best around when making buffs (OQ+PE > 1700, DR >700) but will compromise when making woundpacks and, to a lesser extent, stims.

2. What qualities should I simply overlook?

For most meds, you need only look at OQ, PE and UT. For buffs you need to also look at DR. Also, MA plays a role in the success of experimentation, but not in how high the stats on your meds can get.

3. Is it reasonable to expect to find and use 900+ stats for everything, subcomponents included?

It can be. That depends on what the spawns have been like on your server. Keep in mind that advanced components made with poor quality resources are still better than regular components made with great resources.

4. If so, how in the world do you pull that off?

It takes some time. Many docs wait until a good/great spawn of a needed resource happens and harvest/buy as much of it as they can. My guild is into resource sharing (many resources kept stocked in the guild hall), but the guild's stock pales in comparison to the stockpile of med resources I have acquired over the last 8 months. The quality of my meds has come to reflect the time spent collecting the resources.

5. How do you obtain them?

I mostly harvest my own flora and inorganic resources, using my second toon to survey (I realize that's not an option for everyone). I also watch my galaxy's trade forum for any large quantities being sold (often by retiring docs). For creature resources, I depend on my guild/friends to harvest for me. This can be the toughest and most expensive resource type to get.

6. Should I spam Coronet for them? (That violates so manyof my morals and principles.)

I refuse to do this, so I can't say if it actually works.

7. How the heck do you pay for them?

Many docs make money selling buffs, I make most of mine selling enhance packs to the docs who do that. Sales is the biggest money maker for us (be it selling buff or meds or both)

8. Does anyone else think Tras might be a miserly hording so-and-so?

I'm on a different server, so I'll leave this one alone.

I appreciate any response.

OQ, PE, UT, DR, MA are pretty much all you need to worry about, pretty much in that order.

2. What qualities should I simply overlook?

All the other stats not listed in #1

3. Is it reasonable to expect to find and use 900+ stats for everything, subcomponents included?

Yup. Go to http://www.iootnega.com and check out the resources currently available on your server. Not everything will be available imediatly to you, so you will need patience, and a lot of good harvesters ready for when a good resource spawns.

4. If so, how in the world do you pull that off?

Ive been playing since launch (getting close to a year) thus I have a big fleet of harvesters and a good stockpile of good materials. Plus I have lots of friends to help out when I need it.

5. How do you obtain them?

Lots and Lots of harvesters. I have at least 8 heavies (BER10)of each type ready to put down as soon as I find a really good resource. If you dont have novice scout and novice artisan, I highly reccomend you Pick them up.

6. Should I spam Coronet for them? (That violates so manyof my morals and principles.)

You can try, but the quality youll find there will vary greatly.

7. How the heck do you pay for them?

Its cheaper to start out small and work your way up. buy a couple small harvesters for each type and collect the resources yourself. Start building up a stockpile and make some good stimB's and buffs (best sellers) and start selling.

8. Does anyone else think Tras might be a miserly hording so-and-so?

Sorry, I dunno this "Tras" person.

I appreciate any response.

You are already getting many great responces. Here is are my thoughts on what I think you are asking.

Step 1. Read the doc FAQ. Get to know it very well.

Goal: Know whatresouces and stats to look for dependingon the med you will want to make. How to craft. Many other good things to know.

Step 2. Get to know the web link stickied that is a med resouces filter of SWGcraft.com.

Goal: No what are the hot resources spawing right now that you can jump on.

Step 3. Buy buff packs and buff for cash to get capital to buy harvesters to jump on Step 2 ASAP. Look closely at the cost per charge for the kind of stats you will get. Then think about what the selling price is for buffs and make sure it makes since. IMO this is the fastest way for docs to make cash when they dont have capital.

Steip 4. By as many harvesters and enough power to feed them and leave enough cash for maintences as you cash will allow. Buy only the harvester types for the current high end spawns. It is better to have two water harvs on the current water spawn then to by a different harv and just have it sit around. As spawns change buy other harvs.

Step 5. Check your trade forum over the last few weeks and see what has been selling. Aslo put up a post "WTB XXX, YYY" ask for stats and vendor locations. Make it clear that you are just shopping around for the best qualitiy and price. This will give you a feel for what economy is on your system.

Step 6. The hardest resouces will be herb and avian. If there are good spawns then hunt your hinny off and get your friends to help. If you buy these on the open market (trade forum, vendor, bazaar) you will pay a ton for it. It can still be cost effective to do so. For example, if you pay even 200 cpufor good avain you can still save money over buying buff packs if you are collecting the other resouces yourself. Most other resouces (even great ones) will only be about 2-10 cpu in the open market.

Step 7. Do the math. This is a buisness. Pay your self well for all your time and make sure itis all worth it. When I started I liked to craft so I payed my self little. Now that I have done it a ton I am bored with it so I pay my self a lot to do it. As a result, for me, itwas not cost effective to craft anymore. This may seem like a strange consept but it is very important IMO.

Step 7. Craft

Please please please... Stop referring everyone to ioonega.com. The info comes from swgcraft.com and we *need* people to update them. If everyone just goes to Ioonega right awaynobody will update the resources anymore...

I usually go around every weekend with my alt and check the Doctor specific resources on each planet. Very rarely do I find anything thats not already in swgcraft.com for Chilastra. CMs, BEs, the other proffessions and the other servers are on theirown though.

on the contrary, it was that ioonega site that caused me to for the first time ever enter a resource at swgcraft.com

The site creator makes it very clear thats were he gets his stuff. i think it's better to send docs their then swgcraft because swgcraft was just so combersum I didnt know were to click. It's a GREAT FANTASTIC SIT and I know enjoy it and use it SIMPLY BECAUSE of iooongega or whatecver its called. I bet its brought alot more people to swgcraft.com then you realize.

I'm making 870-900 base, mass production, in a lil under 7 weeks playing time.

I play waaaaay too much though, and I made 1.2mil my second day selling a painting AND I knew I wanted to be doc and I envisioned the setup I wanted in the beginning.

Keep this in mind:

You have to spend money to make money. Many, many days starting out did I start the day with 1 million and end with a few thousand.

Good luck
