i know that a great many of you docs had set up your toon as a buff bot in a house somewhere usually i noticed that the bot would send a group invite to the customer before the buff would start. what i was wondering is what command you used to target the player to be buffed......what i am searching for ultimately is a command line function that will allow me to target group members in a fashion similar to the following command that is used to target enemies:

/ui action cycletargetoutward

anyone have any input? i would greatly appreciate it!!!

I have said it before SOE, and I shall say it again, "Give me a job as your game mechanics consultant, and I shall fix your silly little game"!!!

I am not here to provide an answer to your question but I'm curious ... is it the "Old School" Docs who were buff-bots? I thought the "Old School" Docs were the ones out there playing Doctor.

I find it insulting that you're implying 'old school' Doctors are buff bots!

Edit: Bah, beaten to it... by 10 minutes. Maybe I shouldn't go make coffee while replying to a thread!

I have been a doc since Nov 2003 and though you've rephased your initial question, it still sounds as insulting as ever.

Why don't you try the entertainer/musician/dancer forum? They used to do buff bots a lot. Or better yet, why don't you try a google search within this site instead of insulting the 'old time' docs?

I mean, don't worry, I'm not trying to start trouble -I wasn't angered at all. Just letting you know it might be a bit touchy to address people that way.

Edit: Typo.

I never buffbotted. I first got master doctor in the days of Pub 11, and had a lot of fun live buffing lines.

It was a challenge to get the stuff for and to keep your buffs server best, which I always did... Sigh, I used to be able to get over 2850 in our formerly med center city

I actually DO have a buffbot macro created, post CU that works well. Making them now is very VERY simple now that materials aren't involved. With the increased heals of Pub 19, I'll probably set my doc char up as a wound heal bot for tips and place her at DantMO or Cnet while I'm at work.

There still aren't very many doctors out there, I'm one of very few on my server who kept it (at least on one char, my main has long since moved on to Jedi, that char got glowy when he mastered doctor), mainly because I loved being a healer and a buffer, and doctor was my FIRST elite profession mastered I was hoping someday they'd un nerf us, now if they'd let us do longer duration buffs, I'd be totally satisfied with the post-CU doctor vs combat medic.

The reason why I loved buffing buff lines live was the socialization. I was still a relative noob when I started buffing as a doctor (6 weeks into the game), and my conversations with the many who went thru my line greatly increased my knowledge of the game, and stuff I learned then helps me even today. Indeed, buffing live INCREASED the money I made, because people in line were very pleased to have a live person taking care of them, curing diseases, healing wounds, in addition to buffing.

Guys get over yourselves. Not everyone is as good at laying their questions down. You have made your point. Just answer the poor fellows question. Although I have never had a buff bot, i would be interested in knowing this also.

Even when the SWG search function is unavailable you can do a Google/Yahoo search from the Google/Yahoo toolbar. Just type in the search term(s) you are looking for (i.e.:Invite Buff Macro) and instead of using 'search web' option, use the pull-down and select 'search within this site'.

probably the best way to do it is have them invite you and you set yourself to auto accept group invites.

or theres the /ui action defualtButton command that would possibly auto accept the group invite aswell but i think overall just having them invite and you set to auto accept would work faster/easier

To get the answer from Google/Yahoo/yourSearchEngineHere use the following query:

swg doctor "Buff Macro"

To answer the question it looks like the following command is what you want:

/ui action targetGroup0;

Which would make great macros for doctors healing in a group during combat which was what I was looking for.
