Hello I'm a new doc and I was walking around Mos Espa on Corbantis last night, healing everyone I could find, and then I noticed I had a mail and I opened it and it said I got tipped 500,000 credits from some stranger guy I didn't even heal. I noticed his name was the same from another "scam" post. How is this guy doing it and what is his player character name on Corbantis so I can watch out for him?

Do or do not do, there is no try.
And to show you how the Devs have lied:
"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, ?How can we do this and not make another EQ?? We didn?t want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we?ve created a system to make that happen."

when you look at the body of the mail you should see in the sender part 'bank' exactly like that, anything else is fake.

how to protect against scams with the mailing system, aslong as you don't refund them there is no danger. Right now the worse scam that can happen to you is if you have agreed to heal someone for a set price and he doesn't pay up.

any tip is your money, don't refund (unless you know the guy very well or you sure it's not a scam)

no he sent a Gmail pretending to be a system bank tip message. then the guy will say it was a mistake and ask for the money he "tipped" back, when really he didn't tip you anything

The best thing to do in that situation is call a GM and wait a few minutes...I mean, file a ticket and wait for a CSR to get to it after a few hours. Any legit player won't have a problem waiting for a CSR to sort it out.

That's definitely a scam and has been reported in this forum and on the fan web sites. It was often pulled on doctors who may have been too busy buffing to keep track of their bank account. Someone would "overtip" and then ask for a refund. I've never heard of such a large amount, though, and of course if you look in your bank account you'll probably see that you're NOT 500K richer.

Another way is to KNOW how much is in your account.

I am an entertainer and I got "tipped" 600k. But I noticed many different things then my other bank tippers. Commas in the wrong places, his name instead of Bank. And I also know how much is in my account. I had 700k and after that I still had 700k. So no refund for him
