I remember the days of being able to go to coronet and a few other cities to get buffed and healed. Always had a good time while i waited inline. Could talk to buds while waiting and got to meet ppl who i had not met before.

Now since the CU that is gone. It has become almost impossable to get a heal or even one of the crappy buff they have given you all.

They really need to give docs a reason to play agian. Give you longer lasting buffs like the dancer has for the xp buff.

Like i said we never really knew what we had in you docs but now that many of you just are not on anymore we miss you. Hope things change for you all, we need ya.

I don't think doc was ever intended to be a class that promoted socialisation. If you want to socialise then chill out in a Cantina (where you may well find docs as I often see them in them) and socialise with the entertainers.

Doc's are still around in fairly reasonable quantity. Let's be honest if you think about it there where never many buffline docs really - just that they where in a fixed spot. You could have 20 docs on the entire server but if they where all doing buffing you'd have no problem finding them. There might now be 10 times the number of docs but they are out hunting in the field.

Getting Docs out of starports is a good thing, the major mistake was removing healing from medics. NJessi summarised the reason for this very well. Should we get a new server chances are most combattants will be fully wounded before we get many(any) Docs and on top of that there won't be any jedi. Fundamental game stuff shouldn't exist only in elite tree's.

ya waiting to get a buff was always a pain, most people ended up just going to buff bots so i like that change. It is a shame they took crafting from docs though... never could figure that one out

This is the most poignant observation I've heard pertaining to the pre-CU buffing system. When I needed a buff, and later when I became a doctor and sold them, I enjoyed going to the Coronet Starport and seeing a bunch of people hanging around, chatting, goofing on each other, etc. I had some of my best times and lots of laughs then. Now the place is deserted and it's sad.

I never camped at starports to make a bunch of money, but it was nice to be able to do now and then.

I didn't want to be standing in line, waiting for 10 minutes for a buff so I could fight. One of the best things about the CU was that they removed the doctor buffs.

It also makes a lot of sense they removed the doctor crafting. It's just seems what the Bio-Engineer is meant to do. The Doctor is just supposed to be the end user.

Exactly! Everyone who complains about it... how many medicines today do you think doctors make?

And getting rid of buffbot filled Starports = change for the better.

Agreed. Crafting was a terrible chore. Eliminating the need for buffs suits me just fine as well.

And it kinda irks me when people talk about the buff lines of the past as if those were the old school Docs. I remember playing a Doctor in the first few months when buff crafting was still broken. At least on my server, the resources required to craft them still hadn't spawned. Doctors were eitherfield docs or med center docs and sometimes both.Iremembered the first time someone asked me for a buff--it was a guy who also played on a more populated server with better resource spawns. I was in a group of twenty people and it was the first time any of us had heard of them.A couple of weeks later I saw my first Doc buffing a line of people in Coronet and thought it was silly that people would wait in line for something that would disappear if they died. But by the next week everyone was hooked. I suppose armor encumbranceswas reallywhat made them necessary though. I'm glad they did away with buff dependence.

These days if someone dies, hopefully they have a Doc on hand who can rez them and get them immediately back into the fight. If they don't, they can just clone and bike back to the action without having to shuttle to another planet and stand in line for 10-15 minutes. With the healing increases we'll be seeing in publish 19, I am very happy to be taking my Doctor character (my old primary character) out of mothballs. This looks to be just what we needed. And as far as the social aspect to standing in a buff line, it would be nice if there were more social events in the game. You know people are starved for social content when they say they miss standing in line. But for now, my thanks to the devs for sending us a littlelove.

In my view, buffs pre-cu were like steroids, you needed to be altered to compete. Its nice not to NEEDa buff anymore to do anything.

Well pre-cu crafting kind of filled the gap for docs and cm's because they were very weak in pve in that "solo everything" enviroment. Now we have to get xp in combat so it makes sense that it is gone but i miss it .
