Well, are they, or has this not been addressed yet?

Hey anyone noticed part of today's patch notes said "Improved Server Stability"? Which server, the one the SOE interns are playing Quake on, or the one that Raph Koster is surfing porn on?

My factory isn't doing a darned thing. At all. (see my other thread) I was hoping to test whether or not they do pull from crates, but no dice.

So much for playing today......

Yeah everybody's factories are hosed now.. not only food and chems..

Bad side is they're broke right now.. good side is that now they're gonna have to pay attention to all the factory bugs so they'll hopefully fix em soon.

Thanks for that post, Pho -- I was wondering if other crafting classes were having issues as well. But there were SO many posts in the artisan forum....... well, you get the picture.

Heh I was just coming to ask that same question. I just finished making 200 BEC's and working on 200 chem then 200 liquid. Seems to be working so far, but I haven't been able to test the crates yet. That would be great if it actually worked.

Question though, when putting ingredient in should you put it in the order the schematic calls for or the order the factory says?

As far as I can ascertain, factories will still make 'simple' items - that is, items that only require resources to craft (basically, components). I ran a run of 100 BEC's no problem. But it absolutely refuses to take components and turn them into Stim D for me.

Hrm no problems here..made components and final product using component crates tonight!

I make drugs from crates all the time, here's what I've found. 1. You cannot re-use a schematic. Try to make like 55 or 105 items so you end up with 1 or 2 full crates and one with just a few in it. You cannot stop the process and take a partial crate out, at least it didn't work for me. Leave ALL partial components in the output hopper. Now you've made say 55 BEC's 55 LS and 55 DC you have 6 crates in your output hopper, take out the 5 unit crates and take the items out of the crates and combine to make your schematic. Load the schematic into the factory. Starting with an empty input hopper, put the organic in, then put the inorganic in, then put FULL crates of the other items in. I put them in the order that they show up in the schematics. I forget the exact order I think it's BEC, DC, then LS, not sure if it matters. If you want to make 100 or 200 items, put enough organics and inorganics then put SETS of crates in, that is put one BEC, one DC, and one LS, then Put another BEC, DC, LS etc. This is the only sure way I've found to get it to work. Oh and don't try putting the Crates from the output hopper into your backpack and then into the Input hopper, it doesn't seem to recognize it. It has to go straight from the output hopper to the input hopper and it has to be in the right order. If it fails for some reason, you need to take them all out and use them for manual manufacturing or else take them out of the crates and put them in the factory.

Sucks, but it works. If you've experimented with something similar and found out a way around some of the things I do, please let me know. It may work in other combinations, but so far this is the only SURE way I've found to make mass quantities. I've only made up to 200 in one batch at a time of B Stim's so I'm not sure if there's a quantity limit.

Dang it for no edit. I meant to say, if you fail often a crate will be partially full, like 49 items in it. You have to take this crate and the other 2 associated with that batch then remake your schematic and start over. You don't have to take ALL of the input items out, just the batch items that failed, also don't take out your organics and inorganics, otherwise they'll be loaded in the wrong order.

Falconsbane-

Pre-patch fixes aren't applicable anymore, and really shouldn't be posted in threads like this. (No insult intended; I know you're trying to help.) Factories have been changed; what we're struggling to find out is HOW they've been changed, and whether the pre-patch issues were fixed by these changes.

It looks like the factory problems I've been having are a server-by-server thing. Apparently everyone on Corbantis is having issues, but there are some servers that have no factory issues.

Hmm......

I couldn't get my factory to output a stimpack at all, whether the components were in crates or not. It happily ate my resources and a component from each crate and then reported 0 items were made. My output hopper is at 160/100, which might be part of the cause.

I did a run of stim Es this morning and it ran fine. Which was great I got over 51 charges now with them. But I then did a run of 100 chem. I got an email saying run sucessful 50 made. That was the first sign of problems. I then could not remove the Scem. I made another Scim for a new run of Stim Es and add that to the factory. This cleared out the old one. But it never made it back to my datapad. I did my normal steps. Where I removed every thing from the crates and put them in the hopper. The started that factory. I have not been able to get a run to go yet since then. And I am not able to remove a scem.

Wath out for Hopper sizes. Output hopper were reduced from 1000, to 100. Considering that many of use use that as a storage area, you might be too loaded up in the output hopper for a factory to run.

You'll have to get those crates out of the output hopper and get it down below 90% (some people have actually reporteed haveig to go below 50% to get it to work).
