There seems to be loads of questions floating about regarding the new stuff and I would appreciate it if you can post some kind of detals about what is meant to happen supposed to us trying to work everything out.
A few for starters
Medical city - increase or not?
Janta Blood and Spider venom - worth anything or now useless?
Enhancers - meant to do nothing as appear to be?
Doctor heals - meant to be as poor as they currently seem to be?
Buffpacks conversion - into stims, working as intended or a mistake?
Master doctor using enhancers - reports are they they simply allow a novice doc get the same effect as a master doc?
BE clothing - still meant to increase values?
Overbuffing - meant to be possible or not?
10% vs 20% - how can we give a 20% buff when everything peeps seem to have tried is only 10%
If you can provide us with some details of what each thing is meant to do, how long duration, intended effectiveness ie % increaseetc it would be helpful as it seems most peeps are just trying to work out how things work as supposed to testing if they are working as intended or bugged.
Oh and if possible can you come up with a combined post with the BE coro as these issues affect the 2 groups of players greatly.
That would be great
Thanks in advance.

Additional Questions:
Will Janta Blood be converted into higher numbers (maybe 2 or 3 for 1) because of new higher component requirements?
Will Spider venom be converted to higher power and higher number (perhaps4 for 1) because of the higher strength of the AIAs and higher component requirements?
Will current enhance packs and poison/diseases be converted into low level stims, as reported on Bria and Gorath, or to appropriate strength enhancers?
Do droids or medical centers give a med bonus?

It would be good if these Q&As could all be put in the FAQ thread I think... Just so many we probably ought to keep them all in one spot. Excellent Qs though.
Gift.

I made a CU FAQ list so you could add your questions so that I and others could try to provide answers.
Just so you know, it is not like I was given a play book on how things "should" work. The only way to find out is to test them and find out how they currently work in the CU. Then if you dont like how they work try to get a Dev to see if that is how they are intended to work or ask them if they can be changed.
For example, the Adv Becta Jab only heals for about 300 points based on testing. I have asked them if this is intended or a bug. So far I have gotten a ... no answer.
Please post your questions on that thread and when I get home tonight I will update the FAQ thread with what we know for now.
Don't expect a Dev in this forum to spell out how things are intended to work.

I will add them now but how can people "test" to see if they are working when they have no idea what they are meant to do?

I agree that it would be wonderful if they devs would give us a playbook. However, without one we can still give things a try and see what happens then report back the result. Thanks for posting on the other thread. I updated the top page.

Don't we have a dedicated Dev? Or did I just imagine each profession had a guardian Dev?

FYI - all my janta bloods, spider venoms, etc. on Gorath to TC3 all converted to the same stats as they currently are on live.

You imagined it. The devs working on the CU have different areas of responsibility, but there is no "guardian Dev" assigned to any one profession.

The conversion is somewhat bad for janta blood and very very bad for the spider venom.
The Janta Blood will ONLY have use inStim Ds post-CU (2ABECs required). But since ABECs now go up to around 80 power, the improvement from Janta blood will be more like +20 than the current +80 for base blood.
Most spider venom, unless adjusted in strength upon conversion, will become useless. The new schematics for AIAs max at around 300 power. So unless you have exceptional spider venom (300+) and in large stacks 7 or more it wont be worth using.
Unless they adjust how spider venom converts, we are totally screwed over on the issue of spider venom. Current spider venom will be useless post-CU, and any poison or disease made from it will be converted into mediocre stims upon CU.

My hope is they change them to function more like other enhancers, i.e. krayt tissues.
For example, instead of janta blood replacing a BEC, have a slot in the BEC to take a janta blood enhancer.
Simple change of the schematic, and they don't have to alter any of the pre-CU looted items. Would make a lot more sense then the current setup for looted chemical items (replacing) instead of enhancing.

Marrow for the sake of many of us who aren't really sure how a correspondent...well...corresponds with the devs, could you enlighten us a little bit? (I apologize if this is posted someplace in another thread and I just didn't search for it).
1. Do you have a "back channel" line to the devs wherein they directly answer your questions?
2. What sort of communication do the devs give you?
3. Do they tell you some stuff that you're not supposed to repeat?
4. Are you any more effective at presenting issues to the devs that the rest of us aren't due to your title?
5. When you say "don't expect a dev in this forum to spell out how things are intended to work..."
A. What devs in this forum?
B. Why not?
Thanks for your time!

Let me tell ya what I get.
Another forum just like this where I post endless amounts of stuff and get not a single direct reply.
I have 5 pages worth of "feed back" and have no direct way of knowing that it is read. The only hints that I get that someone may be reading my drivel is that a few things have changed (med exp while solo and enhancer resouces got changed. not that either got changed the way I wanted
).
We are not allowed to repeat what is posted there. Which means little since little is posted there by Red Names anyway.
Am I more effective? Hmm, I would have to say I have no idea. I try to rewrite what is written here in the most effective way I can. I do think they read the threads there more than in the various prof forums.
Why do I say "dont expect a dev to tell ya how it all works" because todate I have yet to read a dev post anything since the first documents were posted that said anything directly on how things will work. With regard to meds there was more information in that one post than all the other posts combined.
To be honest I think the devs have to many game breaking issues right now to deal with than prof breaking issues. As those settle down then I think our bugs will get more love.
Do I think we will ever get our meds back. Nope. They did not make that choice by chance. It was a fundamental deviation of the prof and they will not be backing down from it.
Do I think that is game breaking for the doc prof? Nope. I may hate it with all my fiber but there are a lot of folks who are gonna like it. Take a quick pole in our galaxy forum and you will see that there are a lot more non-crafting docs than there are crafting docs. Those folks are gonna love not having to deal with a middle man anymore. This is even more true with CM.
I think it is time we started working with the skills they are giving us and trying to pry some love out of them. Buffs w/o Enhancers my only be 10% but if we can push things maybe buffs with Enhancers can be made better. The health buff my not get much love with a 25% boost but mybe action and mind will. Sure, we will loose a lot of cash by not making/selling buffs but I think StimD's will be a gold mine. They will be the most consumed product ever made in the game. No question about it. Every player who is a buff junky in Live will be a StimD junky in the CU. Back in the day I used to make rather good coin selling stims. People may snub it today as buffs are the 'elite" crafting but back in the day a high end StimB could net you better cpu profit than buffs and were a ton easier to deal with.
There was a very fun game before and during the buff era. I am hoping there will be a fun game after the buff era.
Ask me if I like the changes and I will just point you to my sig and ask you if youthink a 12pt Doc, 12pt CM, FS Exp, FS Assemply guy with 20 factories that were up until the CU came along pumping out meds 24/7 would like the changes.
We may never get crafting back, we may never get our meds back, but that does not mean that Doctor will not be a fun, useful prof. It will just be a different one than we have come to love.
