I haven't tested one but do you all think a buff bot is still something to have during the cu?

But a recursive macro type bot outside a starport could still be viable and get some business. I don't expect people to pay much for these services, but it could be done. The community might like you for providing the service, or they may hate you for providing the service. Either way, it is your $15 so you can play the game the way you want to (until the Devs tell you otherwise that is).

Doc buff bots won't be worth it. Entertainer buff bots, however, will be worse than ever.

I don't see why.. 20% xp bonus for 180 minutes sounds great to me

we have to wait and seee, but don't think people would take the trouble to go out of their way and find a bot when they can just go back and keep playing, the advantage as it stands is not much.

I meant that we will be seeing many more AFK entertainers (buff bots) in the cantinas. And I see this as a bad thing. I always seek out live entertainers for my healing and tip them for their services, regardless of the number. Sadly it's usually few, many times only one.
I have no idea where you came up with a 20% bonus. When inspiration came to TC, it was a 10% bonus to combat exp, faction points, and crafting success. In the most recent CU patch, they dropped it to a 5% bonus. Combat players will still seek out the buff, but will certainly not want to pay for it, and since you get it from just /listening or /watching, AFK ents will just as well of a job as live entertainers.

Inspiration Buffs are supposedly the baseline buff that all entertainers can give. Devs have eluded to other, better buffs/abilities that are in the works. It is hopeful that these will require interaction to avoid the buff bot scenario that plagues live servers. This would develop afte the CU, however.
