Thread: what are docs all about now that the changes have taken effect? can someone tell me?
thanks,

All crafting of medical products are in Medic ^^^4 and Bio Engineer.
Doc has zero crafting.
Buffs have changed to "Enhancers" that add about 10% to the stats. This however is totally bugged to hell as you don't need a product to apply the buff and regardless of your skills, 10% seems to be the cap. You do get a few extra minutes with the higher skill levels. As far as I can tell all nutrient injections etc. are worthless crap unless the devs get off their collective arses and fix them so that you get up to 30%, as advertised.
As far as healing goes, a Lvl 60 combat toon can heal themselves faster and better using a Stim D. I moved my MD to MBE and I can craft Stim Ds that do 1250 heals. Stim Ds can only be used every 60s, however all other Stims / Jab / etc. are very weak by comparison.
I have not crafted the other stims yet so no idea if we can make them better than conversion. Also with regard to crafting, you can nolonger substitute an advanced component for a basic one. If the schematic is spec'ed for basic comps, then that is what you have to use. Also, only stims really use res / comps similar to pre CU. Everything else uses mostly CM comps and the quantites tend to be like 7 to 8 of each. Totally rediculous cause those are some of the most rare resources to spawn.
All in all, especially based upon recent answers from Devs, the Doc prof is borked. If you want to craft you have to switch to BE. Otherwise you are bascially an under powered healer with no real viable service.
Sorry to seem so down and well the truth can hurt and speaks for itself.
i think master doc can craft stim A and B still, as they are still in my datapad and crafting tool, have not tryed yet so i may be wrong "crafting them that is" ..![]()

I think those come from the Medic 0004 column that you no longer need as a doc.
Right now I am TKM/MD and I think doc is now what it always was for me, a tool to solo. I haven't tried healing in a group though but that seems to be where doc is going to end up.

I am a veteran player since 12/03, used to play all the time, now I only play when I get the chance. I am a Master Doc on Valcyn and I just logged in for the first time in over a month over the weekend and I am seeing now by trying to read the doc forums that things have changed drastically for docs. can someone just tell me now what doc's are really used for? I used to enjoy healing people and buffing people, but I see now that we don't really do that anymore. I see talk about "enhancer's" what the heck is that? if someone could put into simple terms what has changed for me, I would greatly appreciate it!!
Here is a transcript of the last conversation one of us actually managed to have with a dev regarding the CU and their motivation behind it:
DEVS: Dev not like buffing an crafting. Dev take away!
PLAYERS: Hello, we're certainly understanding why you're wanting to change things, however you're fixes are full of bugs! Could we form a discussion group where we could help you out?
DEVS:
PLAYERS: Yes well I can I can see where you're busy and all. How about this, we'll do all your beta testing for you, and submit many, many, many thousands of posts regarding our thoughts on the subject!
DEVS:
PLAYERS: Okay...well how about three simple questions? 1. Why are heals so low powered?
DEVS: Dev not like you heal too much. Dev make you low power.
PLAYERS: You advertise 20% or above, however we can't seem to get above 10%. Can you tell us when this will be fixed?
DEVS: Dev not like you. Dev decide me only answer questions if you come eat breakfast wit Dev. Dev not talk to anyone else!
PLAYERS: Is there any chance you'll actually communicate your thoughts to us in some sort of constructive fashion?
DEVS: Dev hungry!
