Well since most of my pets have been nerfed by the great re-leveling I am thinking of dumping MCH and going Master Doc/Master Rifleman combo. I guess I am trying to come up with a decent soloing template while helping out if I happen to be grouped.
Any thoughts on this combo would be appreciated.

This is my template.
You need a tank that know what they are doing. Becouse you deal out more damage than anybody else, the enemy will go stright upon you, and the defenses/heals are not enough to stay up.
Im still having fun though. Use kneeshot to slow things down if they go up against you, and that other shot with purple icon to queue their attacks.

I suggest against this. You have short range heals as a doctor and long range attacks as a rifleman. I suggest taking up a tank class to compliment Doctor. Healing can generate a lot of hate, and as a tank you can heal your group mates and survive the aggro long enough for everyone to clean up.

I think Rifle/CM would work better, for ranged heals and additional DoT power.
Ranged/CM
Melee/Doc
I prefer those to Melee/CM or Ranged/Doc, frankly because if you're fufilling the role of one, it's harder to do the job of the other. I find it hard to be at a range where I am at range to heal my group, but close enough to hit the target; likewise, hard to be far away from the enemy, but close enough to heal.

Well I get aggro'd anyways all the time even when grouped with my pets now that they have the hate system and I'm still dishing out the most damage. Anyhow guess I'll give it a try and see.

I am having fun with that template, and generally help out well in groups (or do well solo) without armor, which saves me a nice load of money.
Prepare to get aggro'd. It'll happen over.... and over.... and over.... and over.... yeah you get the point. As stated before, you will typically do the most damage to a monster. Add that with the heals and the current hate system, and you're public enemy #1. For big groups, you'll find yourself spending about 80-90% of the time playing the Rifleman role. You're going to pull aggro so often that you realize you're more useful to a group this way. If you truly want to play an exclusive doc role in groups, melee may be better fitting for you.
Soloing can be pretty fun if you're smart enough to get into 1-v-1 situations. Make sure you're buffed (hey it's free, get as many advantages as possible.) Get as far away as possible and use headshot (or sniper/conseal shots if you can ever pull them off). Once they start charging, use Bacta Infusion. That skill is a lifesaver, as when they damage you for 300, the healing kicks in to heal 150 damage, and you can concentrate more on shooting then healing yourself. Follow this up with Bacta Shot/Bacta Jab combinations if you need huge heals (or stims in dire emergencies) and you'll find yourself getting through most 1-v-1 fights with ease.
