Thread: Secure Trade Window for Wound Healing?
I'm not sure if this has been suggested before. I'd like to see the /diagnose window changed a bit to allow for the transfer of goods or credits for wound healing. Here is how I envision it:
- Thedoctorinitiates a heal (radial, Heal Wound for example)
- A secure trade window opens. On theleft side you havethe /diagnose information of the patient with buttons next to each stat labeledHeal and a button on the bottom that says Heal All. On the patient side there is a field to enter a credit amount as well as a trade window and check box to indicate All Wounds (this would allow for someone to tradesomething for healing - a scout might give you a stack of organics)
- The patient drags items to the trade window or types in an amount to pay for each wound point healed (typing in a 1 would result in one credit for each wound healed)
- Thedoctorcoulduse a specific wound packto initiate the heal, hitone of thebuttonscorresponding toindividual stat (health, action, strength, etc)or clickthe Heal All button.
- As damage is healed, credits or goods are exchanged
- If there is an item in the trade window and the Heal All box is checked,it is transfered when all wounds are healed
- After each heal, the /diagnose information is updated to reflect the remaining wounds
- If Heal All is selected, all wounds are healed using meds from the inventory (with the appropriate pauses in between uses) or a /tendwound fires off if there is no medicine available
The idea here is to dispell the idea that wound treatment is free and create a secure trade to facilitate payment (in credits or in kind). Combining the existing /diagnose window with the /trade window should be pretty easy to do from adevelopers stand point. Would this work?
Even if we had the most glitch free (not going to happen) trade interface for healing, people would still not pay for healing.
On a side note, this should be something in a players options - something that we can see while diagnosing.. and not a secure trade at all.
Lets say a person says they will pay 1cr per wound healed, they put that in their player info sheet or some such, then when we check diagnose on someone, that information is shown.
Then when people heal them, they get 1cr for what is healed.
That would be one way to work it.
Another way would to be give doctors a charge window.
/healWound
"Marzuk has initiated a wound heal on you, and charges x fee for this service, would you like to accept?"
Then If the patient accepts, I get my payment for wounds healed, and the agreement is null when the patient gets out of range. This way a person could accept or refuse, and its somethign a doctor could set up.
Since it's easy to ask for payment before I heal, all I would like to have is a diagnose window that updated itself.
I think alot of people see a secure window for healing kinda cumbersome & could be used for griefing since I could make a deal with someone for 1000cr to heal all of his wounds, just one pack and then bugger off!
The other idea about having a message box about accepting wound healing for X charge could be spammed or you could heal someone who only wants to pay for his health wounds to be healed & then you heal all his wounds and then they have a go at you.
Personally, I see the system itself as being ok since more and more people are tipping, its more about giving medics more options to get medic xp and money in the way of missions than re-designing a wound healing / charge system
