I recently reviewed my skills and abilities and noticed that there is a function to register as doctor. I read the description of the ability but was unable to do so. If you know how to do it or what it does when you do it. Please post reply.

Not that it does alot, but just use it (click on it) when your in a Medical Center and a message comes up that you have been registered as located at that location. If someone checks the ovelall map and under the vendors they're supposed to see you under Medical Centers.

If you leave, you should get a message that you are no longer registered.

In order to register as a doctor, you must be in a Medical Center. Though we can heal also in Taverns, it doesn't work in those locations.

There are two ways to register once inside a Medical Center. One is to double click on the registration terminal, the other is to type "/register" without the quotes.

I think I've figured out how this works. Basically, if you go into the planetary map and open up the list of Medical Centers, each one will have either a crescent moon icon or a sunburst icon next to it. A sunburst icon means that there is a doctor in the med center that has used /register since they arrived. A moon means that there are either no doctors in residence, or there are one or more doctors there, but none of them have used /register.

I tested the /register command and it seemed to work this way. The planetary map won't update until you close it and reopen it, but it seemed to conform to the above description.

So I guess the next part is A) letting doctors know that they should use /register when they enter a med center, and B) letting non-doctors know that the sunburst icon means "doctor in residence."

It would be nice if the devs had ever told us about this ability or if the med center would list the names of the resident doctors, so that you could send a tell and make sure they don't leave before you get there.

Everybody knows where the med centers are. Nobody checks the map like they do for vendors.

But ... if this worked anywhere, I could set up a clinic with my surgical droid. Same rules, if I move outside some small radius it unregisters me. Wouldn't that be cool? There are a lot of med-center-less areas of the galaxy that could use a mobile clinic.

I read somewhere that registering at the location gives you a 25% increase to your skills. I'll try and find where I read that unless somebody else can confirm it for me?

Now if that is the case...

if they tied that into the master doctor box, the doctors could register and gain +25% to healing skill and would be a nice bonus for reaching that lvl.

then again im not a master doctor so i would loss my ability to register at the med center.

It was in the Faction Base document off the main SWG page. That's not for med centers, but for med centers in Factional HQs. I hear that you can't actually use /register at such locations though, so it's bugged.
