Thread: Request Input....Advanced Doctor Resource Shop....
Ok i want to get other players oppinions on this....
Im thinking of starting a shop on Flurry that focuses on selling all the specific resources needed to make Advanced Components for Medical Supplies. Possibly later on hiring on others to collect High Quality basic resources doctors need as well.
This would save docs time collecting resources, and also would allow them to purchase very high quantities of these resources insted of 500-1000 at a time on the bazaar.
Sooo what ya all think? Should i try this?
Can we say niche market? =oD
So long as you sufficiently advertised and didn't charge too much per resource stack, I could see this being very helpful to doctors/combat medics/medics. It could definitely free up those artistan points for some people and save them the woes and laments of harvester runs a plenty.
i was thinking of doing it this way.....
generic HQ resources: 2.5cr/unit
any planet advanced resources: 3cr/unit
planet specific advanced resources: 6cr/unit
rare spawn advanced resources: 8cr/unit
thats currently a bit cheaper than the going rates on the bazaars on flurry.
Just to give you an idea of what stims cost to make and sell if you mine them yourself...
Stim Bs 300x36 sells for 1200 creds on Starsider
costs:
24 basic comps for final units * .8
16 basic comps for chem unit * .8
36 adv. comps for bio chem * .8 per + 3200c per trip to Lok (assume +1 cred per unit for travel, better if you mine lots and don't travel much)
12 adv. comps for liquid unit * .8 per + ~4.5k to Talus and Dantooine (assume the same +1 cred per)
~ 19+13+64+21 = 117 creds.
Using purchased items:
~ 24*2+16*2+36*6+12*6 = 368
It is the herbivore meat and the class IV fuel that don't really add much to the mix. They add about +50 to heal and would add about 100 creds to the sale value. But, people charge huge amounts for the fuel and meat. Not worth it when a basic chem unit has power 14 while the adv. has power 44.
So, if you sell aluminum, organics, chems, tatooine fiberplast, dantooine berries, lokian wild wheat, and talusian water that would cover all that is needed for a good stim B. The meat and fuel are optional. Right now I mine my own materials, but at some point I would like to switch to buying resources. So, you idea I'd bet would go over well if you can keep the cost to around 400 creds for a set of resources. That is 3x markup for the person instead of 10x.
any planet advanced resources: 3cr/unit
planet specific advanced resources: 6cr/unit
rare spawn advanced resources: 8cr/unit
Ok, Im going to look at this from a couple points of view....
The first point of view, is from the resource seller. Given that you can mass mine ore and sell it for 3cr a unit, and sell as much as you want, I can see the first 2.
Looking at the advanced and rare spawn, again from a resource sellers point of view isnt bad - you could sell rare metals for 15cr to a weaponsmith if you found the right thing afterall.
Now, looking at it as a doctor, there is only 1 way I can afford these prices, and that is if im taking these resources and turning around and selling them as stim B's. Otherwise Im far far to broke to afford the proposed prices.
Thats one of the problems with selling to medical people - the market for stim B's is only going to go so far, with competition driving the price down, and outside of that it can be difficult to make money off of your medical proffesion.
You will most likely get buyers that are dabblers, or buyers that have for some reason run out of stock, and will buy a few hundred of this or that to hold them over.
I was selling quite good dantoine berries for example on the bazaar, at 6cr each they barely moved, and at 4 they moved, albiet slowly.
There are few doctors, and only a small percentage of those doctors are making any significant money. This all limits resource selling quite a bit.
Please note this is from the perspective of a master doctor, and that mileage may vary. Docs cant charge for our services like a weaponsmith or an archetect (well we can, but we get laughed at) so the money we spend on supplies, doesnt do anything but add to the expense, without adding to the gain.
>> Not worth it when a basic chem unit has power 14 while the adv. has power 44.
I'm not sure what quality advanced resources you're using, but you should be able to get your advanced chem units over 60 power.
GPF.
Significant money from selling stim Bs is relative. I've been able to sell 80k worth in a week. And my costs are just to maintain factories and about .8 per resource. I've had minimal travel costs since I have stocked up on resources. I've finanaced almost all of my purchases via crafting. Two factories, 3 medium harvesters, a small house, 2 surgical droids, 3 probots (my first died and I bought two since they were perma-death at the time) furniture for my house and some training and I have 240K banked. It is not much compared to other crafters or hardcore missions, but fora casual player, that is pretty good. Stim Bs sell great if you find the right market place. I am the only one that offers them on the bazaar at my home city and my vendor offers crates and I have a steady clientle that buy them.
Found couple that have said they were working on it. Haven't found a consitant supplier yet.
If you get one set up give me a /tell or e-mail me in game.(Aries)
I'm looking for all the advanced componet resources.(hate cruising the Bazzar for them).
