Thread: Speedy Crafting guide
Here's my current macro and hotkey setup and it keeps me keeping 4 crafting tools spitting out experimented stimB's.
StimB's are made of three subcomponents (Bio Enhancing Container, Liquid Suspension, and Chemical Release Container) so I'll set up macros for those and for the final product. Just swap these out and you can adjust them for your schematic of choice.
Hotkey bar:
slot 00-03: food & chem crafting tools
slot 04: macro craftBEC
/ui action toolbarSlot00
/selectdraftschematic 1
slot05: macro craftLS:
/ui action toolbarSlot01
/selectdraftschematic 2
slot05: macro craftChemRelease:
/ui action toolbarSlot02
/selectdraftschematic 8
slot05: macro craftStimB:
/ui action toolbarSlot03
/selectdraftschematic 10
Note: The numbers of the different schematics are individual as they are numbered as you get them. They seem numbered from 0 upwards, each kind of tool having their own number series. Just try it out and make your own list of number-schematic mappings.
Now having set up these eight hotkeys, it's time to start crafting. Depending on whether you're at a crafting station or not you'll have to go through the experimentation steps. If you're in it for the grinding, remove yourself from any such location and perform the following:
1. Press F5
2. Double-click your resources
3. Press Enter (Proceed)
4. Press Enter (Make prototype)
5. Press Enter (Name prototype)
...there, you made a BEC by two double clicks and a few strokes of the Enter Key
First you should do the same for all subcomponent macro (F5, F6, and F7 for my StimB). The first loop of crafting you leave out the assembling macro (F in order to give the crafting tools time to finish the subcomponents. The crafting therefore goes like this:
F5-F6-F7
F5-F6-F7-F8
F5-F6-F7-F8
F5-F6-F7-F8
...and so on and so forth.
If you want to make quality products, you can easily include experimentation in the loop. It takes a little more time but the products are better as you all know.
With experimentation the process will go as follows:
1. Press F5
2. Double-click your resources
3. Press Enter (Proceed)
4. Press Enter (Eperiment)
5. Click on what to experiment
6. Press Enter (Run experiment)
7. Press Enter (OK experiment window)
8. Press Enter (Done experimenting)
9. Press Enter (Make prototype)
10. Press Enter (Name prototype)
...a little more clicking and a bunch of strokes on the Enter key ...as simple as that.
Note: You'll have to find a good pace to hit the Enter key. If you hit it to quickly, the crafting session will hang and you must abort it
Note 2: For grinding you could make only BECs and use the practice mode which gives you 5% extra XP at the cost of an extra mouse click.
What are the best items to craft for alot of xp? I crafted stimpack B's (regular) to get master medic. Is there a better item to craft for xp?
In reguards to the macro:
Do you have to put the comps for the item in the tool bar? What about room in the pack? Does selectdraftschematic 1, put the comps in the food tool? Can you have an empty pack (except for another pack holding the food tool and comps)?
Thanks for your time

I only make stimB when I craft large quanteties. StimB is easily sold on the bazaar and will finance your harvestors at least. The again, I'm only Novice Medic so far (only in this forum to study :smileywink
so I wouldn't know what else is good. I think StimD's are in demand too!?
I do not put any components or resources in my tool bar. I double-click those as in normal crafting. If the basic resources can be used by putting them in the toolbar, that could speed up thing even more - I must test this.
The selectdraftschematic does not fill up the resources, it just selects what to craft. It saves you a mouse click though, and mouse clicks are time consuming!
And yes, your inventory will eventually get filled up, unless you click the practice checkbox. You could sit by the bazaar when you're crafting and just put them out for sale when you need to make room.
I usually sit and craft in the cantina though. Target the dancer that burns the most action, hotkey the /healdamage command and fire it off in between every item crafted. That way you get some medical experience at the same time, and helps the dancer dance through the night without rest ![]()
You could also add the /healdamage command to each of the craftXXX macros and you'll save even more time, but I like healing to be an manual action - I heal those I want to heal, when I want to. I usually chat a bit with the dancers too - they're often very social and nice people ![]()
