Thread: How do you beat a pikeman?

As a master fencer/master doc, I win the majority of fights but am stumped as to how to beat a pikeman.
A pikeman I fought hit me every second plastering me with states and heavy hitting poision /disease. I could not clear either my states or poison/disease fast enough. A couple of minutes and it was all over.
A combat medic is easy to deal with , but as for a pikeman?
Iamgoing for cm 3004 doc 4000 to fight fire with fire but would preffer to be a master doc

By the way, imho, the 4004 CM 3000 doc combo is better since that would give your poisons 25% more damage. Can't cure disease with that setup but in most cases the diseases that a 55 med use doc can cure can be dealt with once the battle is over. You still get fire blankets at that level and mind fire is a lovely dot pikes have.

The pikeman has spent a ton on dot weapons. Without the dots they are nothing. So let them have their dots.
Here is some simple advice that may or may not help.
1. Make sure your using high end cure packs so you only have to heal once.
2. Use enc. sliced armor and not effectiveness.
3. Try some Havla if your having a hard time keeping up with the cures.
4. Get your skill tapes for def.
Some templates just stink against some other templates and try as you might you just going to loose.

I prefer to smash his head in with my ackley powerhammer. I do not concern myself with their little DOTs. I keep pluging away at thier mind and when the poisons catch up to me, my stim e's put me right back in the fight.
This does not allow for drawn out fight, mind you. This tactic will always produce a quick end, how much damage you can dish out will determine whos left standing, lol.
Lose the poison and heal up after the fight. During a fight though, I tend to focus on 3 heals: dizzy, intimidated, and stim e's or d's.

I did master doc + fencer for a long time and I found it not too bad to go up against pikemen especially with armor and buffs. In the beginning try to hit them with a health bleed, intimidate and dizzy. After that try to get them to kneeling with lunge and remember to keep the intimidate stuck on them (less chance that they'll get all the poisons, disease, dizzy, stun etc on u). If you see they use up their mind a lot it's a good idea to start scatter hitting, if their mind is buffed whether food or entertainer i typically try to keep the health1 and 2 bleeds stacked, and just pound through their armor with my stun baton. You figure the best resists to stun are around 37%-38% which most composite armor does not come with. I think it's also a good idea to grab one of those many stone knives with mind poison and stick it early.

My opponent was a pikeman/fencer which boiled down to doc v pikeman, the mind dots having some punch.
Ill miss master doc greatly but have found cm just so powerful. Even as a 0004 cm, easlily beat a buffed swordman/rifleman and tka together with some crappy mind poison, being unbuffed with no armour.
Ill experiment with cm 4004 , doc 3000 but i suspect ill be easy meat for a cm throwing mind disease
