If you're a Doc, then CM's will do nothing to you....in fact...pretty much any state effect or anything will mean nothing. you can buff yourself....heal yourself like a god....

If you are a CM...you can toss poison....

If you are CM rifleman....and you get poisoned....well...

Just go Doc.

I think the gamewill beinteresting enough to not have any one template that is significantly better than the other - or at least that's the driving force behind the combat rebalance. At the moment, you can do CM to throw a poison at a Jedi, but their force healing does just about everything, from heal wounds, inc mind wounds, to healing poison and disease. So from that perspective you aren't going to take out many high level Jedi with CM, and especially after its 'balanced' we are know the poison and disease strenth, and range, will not be as uber.

As for doc, well its not always the best combo either. If you really want to have an uber combat combo, do multiple combat professions - you don't necessarily have to master them, but look in the different trees at the types of defense bonuses that you get - many of them stack up cross-profession, you can easily work it out. For example, pistoleer and fencer both get 'dodge' bonuses, which makes them very tricky to hit - my friend had that combo and would endlessly poke fun at gurk lairs, have 30 of the beggars chasing him and never actually get hit by any of them, coz none of them could touch him.

But if you want to be able to heal your own wounds/poison/disease etc, you have the choice of doc or tka.

I know its a doc forum, but my best 'opinion' without as you say tryint to sound like a smarty, is you take tka coz you can meditate away all your problems, and it will have combat bonuses too. TKM/Doc is a nice template if you wanna buff yourself. TKM/Rifleman may work, have a look over the benefits of each, just means you gotta buy a buff.

I'd go with Doc. A CM/rifleman does most of his damage with his rifle. With doc, you become very difficult for a CM to kill before you can kill him.
