All,
Was curious to see if you have seen a decrease in the willingness of players to pay 10k plus for buffs. Economics allows an argument for a decrease (lower mission payouts = lower cash = decreased overall demand) or even for stable prices or even an increase (lowered demand = fewer docs = price increase).
Just curious if anyone has seen an effect on their server.

In theory, yes, buff prices will lower. Will it happen immediately? Probably not, but give it a month or so to wait for the economy to adapt, then we'll see how it all goes.

Well on Radiant buff prices will not be going down, they will be going up. We haven't had a good shift of avian in a long while. We just finally got the best shift of class 4 petro ever. You haveto literally go a search for buff packs because so few have the avian to make half way decent buffs. At the very least folks will be paying between 20K -15K for 800 power buffs, if that much.
Until the combat revamp is in inplace fully, the demand will be there for buffs. Those that can afford it will pay, those that can't willstart making their own.

i dont think prices will go down, take a look at the facts
yes, it's true that buffs values will probably go down, either by duration or power
and its not tough to say which it's going to be, and that is power, not duration. why you ask? you have to look at this from a coder's standpoint. each buffpack or crate stores a few pieces of data.... serial, med use, duration, and power. serial won't change, that makes no sense to change it, same withmed use. but what about duration and power.
the duration is the number of seconds that the buff lasts for, if they wanted to lower that they'd have to convert ALL PAST AND FUTURE buffpacks to a NEW number. which means a HUGE database edit, which they probably WILL NOT do, because if it messes up, night night. that also means they'd have to change crafting for buffpacks for the future.
the power is a number that gets manipulated by multiple factors - droid, clothes, level of treatment, bivoli, plus itself. it would be much easier to make these number less effective, meaning that a 900 power buffpack that equals potentially 2500 ish (depending) now, could equal 2000 or 1500 or whatever they want to make it. they CAN do it.
so looking at it from a coder's standpoint, it's
1) editing all current buffpacks/schematics duration and editing buffpack crafting
vs
2) changing variables in the enhance equation to equal a lower number
...... 2 wins, by far, much easier, quicker, easily tweaked if needed.
GOING BACK to the original topic, will our prices change. no, they won't. why? cause this is a COMBAT BALANCE, not a crafting balance or upgrade. meaning they will change stuff serverside as much as they can without interfearing with our character and item databases as little as possible. the components that we need to make buffpacks won't change, they will require the same minerals and parts to them as they always have. so poeple who craft buffpacks aren't going to change their prices because they will still be as good as they are compared to other buffpacks and they're just as complicated and involved to make.
if you're a buffing doctor and the price that you're paying for buffpacks doesn't change, are you going to lower your buff price? no, you won't.
buff prices won't go down unless cost for resources go down. if there was an overabundance of really good resources, then you'd see it go down, but because as that is not the case, the doctors with lost of money will be able to continue paying high cpu for resources and getting the same amount of money that they've been getting.
we will still have the bonus clothes, bivoli, etc, they will just factor in different.
