Thread: take all subcomponents out of crate?

I thought I read in one of the recent patch messages that you could put subcomponents in the ingredient hopper in the crate instead of taking them out and the factory would use them out of the crate. Is this true? Has anyone tried it recently?
Or do you still have to take all the sub components out of the crate?
