Thread: Best Materials for MEDS?
Ok,
So, water is self explanatory--the higher OQ, the better...
As far as Organics... Why is meat preferable to other orrganics, like wheat?? If both are the same quality, is meat better than wheat, or does it not matter?
Chemical--what type is best? Fiberplasts? Liquid Petrochems? Others? Confused here...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
look at the bottom of the schematic, it'll show you what qualities are most desirable in a raw resource to make the item. For meds its overall quality and potential energy. I was using some nice 900+ in both category bug meat till I ran out, and for my inorganic component i try to use something with both high overall quality, and which has a potential energy component that is also high, like petro fuels, etc.
You are even more restricted in advanced components because you have to use specific resources and so you are limited to whatever of that specific resource is around at the time. I've had particular trouble finding decent dantooinian berries on my server. However, you're in luck because even with crap materials it starts off at higher power than you can experiment to with the regular components.

Now I'm a bit unclear on this. On starsider the advanced ingredients are all crappy..think lok wheat was at only 90 OQ...and along with the dantooine berries and such it's all sad. Because these have all been pretty much pathetic before I never bothered to make advanced components. So is it really true that even if they have pathetic attributes it's still better to use advanced components with crappy ingredients over regular components with high quality ingredients?
Pretty much..or at least that is what I have found from my own experience. I'd recommend getting a little of each resource if you can and try to make an advanced component as a tester to see what you can expect.
It seems it depands on what u want. Like for revive kits, it seems that effectiveness doesnt really effect much, so I usually try to get more charges. So i make it with resources with hi OQ and High UT. Only organic i know with UT is hide.. and maybe wood. But i usually use hide, some sort of steel, ore, something with high UT and 1 adv Biological controller. u can get Revive packs to 20+ charges. I tried adding 3 Adv LS, but that didnt seem to increase much, same charges but no effectiveness so. Experiment and figure out what u need i guess. I've yet to find something that has all three qualities of OQ, UT, and PE in one thing.. maybe theres is i dont know about it..
In regards to advanced comps, I made a solid deliveryshell with a power of 17 using nothing but my best inorganics and organics (900+ on all relavent stats) and all 10 of my experimental points. thats pretty good on a regular component. Then I used what ever was available at the time to make an advanced solid delivery shell. These materials just plain sucked compard to what I used with the other comp. Before I even started experimenting the power was at 16...after I was done the power was at 48...well need I say more? Final note: make advanced comps when you can. even if you cant make all of them at once. using just one advanced comp in any of your meds will increase either the amount healed or number of charges garranteed. Using advanced comps i can get a stim B up to 349 heal with 37 uses. I don't know anyone who can get a stim B using regular comps that high. Just my 2 credits though...
Hope this helped thanks![]()
It's usable in schematics that call for Inorganics, Metals, Non-Ferrous Metals, Plus CM's have some schematics that call for Aluminum specifically.
Plus, it's cheap, and easy to find on the bazzar.
Basically, I keep 20K of *good* aluminium in my bag, and a bunch of various organics, plus some water and chemical. It' cuts down a lot on the resources I have to carry around for emergency, in-the-field meds.
