Thread: Which medical skills matter most?

Figured the best place to get an answer to my question was straight from the MD's.


This is my plan.


Brawler 4/0/0/0


Master Marksman


Commando 0/4/0/0


Smuggler 0/0/3/0


Master Pistoleer


and


Medic 2/0/3/4


My thinking here was that I would be able to craft and use my own Stimpack C's. I've been hearing alot about Stimpack C's. If I go with this will the Stim C's I make be usable and effective (significantly better than the B's)??? If not I'll go with Medic 2/0/0/2 and stick with the Stimpack B's and have 18 skill points to mess with.


Also does Pharmacology make a difference in the ability to use Stimpack C's? So could I go Medic 2/0/0/4?


Summary: Option 1 2/0/3/4 Option 2 2/0/0/2 (Use B's + 18 free pts) Option 3 2/0/0/4 (Use C's + 9 free pts)


Someone please let me know which option makes most sense.

Drop medicine crafting if you aren't going for master medic. You'll be much better off buying your medicines than making them. Let master chemists make the medicines for you.

Nobody advices people to put points into First Aid, if I were you I'd do FA 4 and pharm 4 to ensure you can use all stimpack Cs (mabye some Ds) and that you get the maximum heal out of each use.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I think I have decided where to put the points. You've all been very helpful.

Pharmacology goes hand in hand with medical crafting. It allows you to use the items you've made.

If you don't want to be a professional doctor, I'd say get Pharmacology to 3. At that point you can have someone else make Stim Cs that you can use. Don't waste any other Skill points in Medic. If you do crafting sure you can make your own but find a good Doctor to make them for you, and use the skill points to help in other areas.

You must have Pharmacy 3 to use Stim C's. They require 30 medical use. So its either Pharmacy 3 (stim c's) or no pharmacy at all (stim b's). If you go with no pharmacy at all, you can really get by with a lower organic chemistry level. (3 if you want to heal wound substats, or 2 if you just want to make crappy b's in the field).


Its a lot of skill points to go from a stim B to a stim C. You get an extra 100 or so heal points and 5 to 10 extra charges, maybe.



And you're not really in doctor territory with this question, this is really medic stuff. You might get a better answer on that forum.
