Thread: /healmind ?
Ok, first read this thread from a dev.
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=394421#M394421
Scroll down to the point where he's talking about healers.
Now, I'm sure he meant to type /healdamage. But It sounds like there have been some discussions behind closed doors where /healmind got thrown out.
Just something to think about.

Holocron did say he was in a hurry when he wrote up the post, and he had probably been reading the posts to his "Entertainers and money" thread in the Discussion forum.
There was a lot of people trying to push Mind stimpacks in that thread, I can see how he might get dazed. ![]()
And what is with the format of Holocron's message? I like Vass's Test Center update post better, its easier to read. ![]()
I just have this queezy feeling that the first expansion may add third tier classes. One of these quite possibly will be a phychiatrist -sp- . With many folks capping xp within the fist few months the first expansion must add another tier to encourage character development errr,,, more game time played.
Adding /healmind just like not approaching KD gently couldbadly fux things up. Right now KD is about the only good method of PVE crowd control. If KD takes a global smacker then I see may PVE encounters just becoming zerg fests with little tactics. So how do you deal correctly with KD changes? Dunno. Immunity timers?
Yeah... but we get mind damage for telling a pet to play, or by using medicine, so... does it physically hurt you to do such things?
Yes. Because my pet's idea of playing is to run his cute little claws into my ear and scramble my brains. Also, my laser rifle has a nasty kick when it fires, and due to its sighting mechanism, I have to hold it up to my head to hit anything, thus this too is damaging my actual mind, not my psychological well-being. ![]()
It's almost like the devs tried to combine two TOTALLY separate things into a single mind stat. Maybe, instead of getting rid of the mind stat (which is ACTUALLY being BEGGED for in the carbine and pistol forums) we should add another stat, like "sanity" or something, which would allow either our mini-Freuds or our scantily-clad dancing girls to restore something while still letting riflemen shoot people in the head.

healmind would mean that usdoctors never die in battle, maybe a little imbalancing. Im all up for another class that could heal mind damage, though. Squad leader for example. Sort of makes sense sincea good leader should be able to give everyone a morale boost.
This makes alot of sense....NOT.
Anyone can use Stim B if they get Novice medic.
Going with your proposal Squad Leaders would never die in battle.
Think people, think
Silly thing is mind pool can go and there is still something that will prevent people from PvEing forever...
its called BF...
no those people who think mind pool is needed to prevent people from PvEing without rest...solve this by making BF have more penalities...
then u can mind pool as a mana pool then shift rifleman to H and A (which will add to their viability in pvE 1000%) and have then do 1000+ H and A with headshots so only the most buffed of characters will be able to suvive a sniper hit...
snipers keep their one hit viability, endless PvE is solved and no mind pools dont need to be buffed up by tanks...
its just ridiculous that melee tanks need to have huge ham bars to be viable...
The idea that an unhealable pool is necessary for PvP is rediculous. SWG is the only game where in PvP (and in PvE - what a joke) you can die without hope of healing whatsoever. It gets old as hell dying to a head hit from an npc you are fighting.
Mind damage needs to go. It's the only reason the 75% reduction in PvP damage was put in in the first place. Take out mind damage, put back in full damage, and let it be healed. You'll still get some single shot deaths, just like before, but at least people can go back to enjoying the game without having to find a CH in order to survive.
