In some games, it becomes apparent that the healing classes have a great deal more costs than the average player. In AO it was buying large Nano Regen kits, in SWG it is buying stims. When we were playing AO in the early stages we let the doc do all the looting as their was not a whole lot of loot but it did help him to defray the cost of keeping us alive. I was thinking with SWG basically being a lootless game it might be nice if there was an in-game way to help compensate these folks. I play 2 different toons one is raw combat with no healing skills of his own, (My Main) and I always tipped the Doc / Combat Medic 3 to 5K at the end of each night, this seemed to shock him but I knew he was burning a load of meds to keep me alive, Now that I am playing my second toon I know just how many meds he was burning. Please see my suggestion below to help assist hard working support classes pay for the meds they use, this is not to help them get rich, or really make a money on the whole it is more meant as a cost recovery system for the profession.
It would be nice if you could buy health insurance in the medical centers. The policy should be able to be activated and deactivated via a command like /insured. When a healer heals an insured player their is a transfer of cash to the bank for services rendered. I am not quite sure what the proper ratio should be I was thinking somewhere around 1 credit per 10 points healed (this should be single pool counted only so if 562 health and 380 action is healed insurance is only charged for the 562 health healed the cost should be based off the largest pool healed), that would make a full heal on the average player cost 100 credits and a 10K Hampet 1000 credits. I understand this system could transfer a burden to the Creature Handler class, or the tanking classes,so insurancecosts in a group should beaveraged across the group and pulledfrom everyone who carries insurance including thehealer as he is getting thebenefits of thegroup he should contribute to the cost.In field resurrections should cost about 100 credits, and buffs should be something that are done at a doctors discretion and should be outside this system.
Players that have insurance active should show up as a different color in the team list this way it is sort of a guilt system to get everyone to contribute, insurance should NOT be made mandatory, but it should become part of a players cost of doing business, I see much complaining about the cost of things on these forums and the funny thing is the team doctor is more than likely spending more on meds each outing than most players have spent on the weapon they use for 2 or 3 weeks. Allowing the player to turn on and off when they are insured will keep you from getting grief healing, when people are in town doing things that require pool points but really have no desire for a heal.
Thoughts?

When I do go out with a good group, its not so much about making money on it, more breaking even on the resources I used. I don't know how they could keep track of all my individual stim usage automatically without bogging down the server though.
I still think the best way is to just get a good group that understands that it costs money to do what I do.
Even at 1 credit per 10 damage healed...on a long trip that could still end up being a huge, huge amount of money. Just as there is no sense in me going broke for their benefit, they shouldn't go broke for mine.
I like the idea of this kind of thing in the med centers for wounds, but in a group its better to just communicate with each other a bit, in my opinion.

It's a new idea but it sound complicated enough that it would make things easier. What they need to do is give a doc that /registers at the med center an added healing bonus. Right now it's more informational and since it's given at the "elite" lvl it should care more positive effects.
