Unfortunately there isn't an exact recipe for making your plant grow. You might as well try to check out this 23 pages long http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=224915&page=1 target=_blank>thread about it in the Games Guide forum, but like someone said there "the plant says right on it that each one is different. That is the very reason that they are so hard to grow. There is no set right or wrong with these things. The nature of the Aurillian Plant is to be individual". (No one ever spoke so profoundly of my tamagotchi plant like he did on that last part, so I really had to quote him).

If you speak to one of the villagers outside of the village, he or she will tell you about Dathomir .. and the lush greenery that USED to grow there. He or she also mentions, in a sense, how to care for the plant. It's in a round about way .. but gives you at least an idea where to start.

In all honesty you need not worry too much about the two states - my plant's growth rate has pretty much always been wilting, but it keeps on producing fruit after fruit...
Simply ensure that the water and nutrient levels are always kept at normal - never above this level, it's ok to let it fall a little below, but don't over feed or over water. Eventually it will grow through the phases

Hmmm .. red x's in little white squares .. interesting. I really don't see what this has to do with a melon!!

My plant started out hating water with a passion. So, I kept it at below normal & even dry (2) at times. Is in excellent condition and growth rate varies from slow to very slow. As for the nutrients, I keep that in the Normal to Above Normal (1) range. Also, I sing, whistle, and dance with my plant (lol). It seems to help.
I was told to keep house private so I do. But, at the same time, I'll have visitors come over to view my plant. It seems to like the company. Ha ha ha ha. As you may have noticed, this plant is driving me bonkers!

That thing is the evilest creation ever. I've tried about 200 different organics and 20 different waters at every level possible and I cant get past slow growth.

I've plotted out different combos. I doubt growth is linked to the stats of ingredients used.

I doubted it as well, but I tried some dant berries with 750 OQ (roughtly) and it remains growing slowly, and has now reached excellent health (much to my suprise). I tried feeding it some 975 OQ dant berries, and it quickly began to wilt and die. I removed them and replaced them with the original berries, and it started growing slowly again.
