Now that the full effects of the changes in the CU are starting to be seen, the doctor forum is beginning to see a lot of posts asking where all the doctors have gone who can heal their wounds.

Here is the answer:

The CU changed the way that doctors gain xp by allowing it only during combat, like every other combat profession. We doctors no longer receive any xp for healing wounds outside of combat. So in order for us to gain any medical xp, we cannot be in or around medical centers any longer. We can only gain while in the field.If we must gain xp to advance in our profession, we have no reason to be around medical centers.

Now, there are two things you can do about this as fellow players. First, you can make sure you tip any doctors that heal your wounds, as they are getting nothing else for doing such. This will give us more reason to heal your wounds than as it now stands. Not all of us are doctors for the money, though, so this will only have a minimal effect. Second, and more effectively, you can join in supporting a change in experience gaining for doctors that would allow for doctors to gain xp while healing only wounds only in medical centers. Not everywhere, and not with droids. Only wounds and only in medical centers.

There is no reason why this should not be allowed. The biggest argument against such gains prior to the CU was that medical experience could be gained too easily by healing tumblers. This no longer exists. Second, we are asking only to heal wounds, not to heal regular health in such a way. Wounds are usually healed outside of combat, while regular health during combat. This would still fit the new combat system perfectly, while opening up the door for those who play doctors on a more social basis rather than combat.

With such a change to the medical xp gain for wound healing, you will see an increase in doctors attending to the medical centers. We will once again have reason to be in the medical centers, offering to heal people's wounds.I guarantee that you will find me again in the medical centers on Kaurishould this change come about.

This is something that doesn't just affect one profession, but rather everyone who plays this game.
