Thread: Why I buff and woundheal for free
I play a MDoc/MMedic/MRiflewoman and I never bothered about respecing. Actually I was a Novice Brawler as well, but without intimidate I didnt loose anything to drop it.
I join in on groups, and for every mission I assist I get about 10k. Playing in a group is fun, and thanks to me the group is stronger, faster and more effective. I keep them healthy, and I still get the experience and the money like before.
Before I leave, or when I feel for it, or when asked to, I always fix their wounds as well. When their Adrenal Boost drops, I renew it, when their other buffs drops, I renew them.
I buff and woundheal for free simply becouse I am a doctor, and that is my role. I get the same kind of money as everybody else, simply by playing my role, and people love to have me along = more xp and more money for me.
Instead of crying what you lost, be happy for what you where given. If you arent a true doctor/respec, its that simple. Charging for your woundheals and buffs is like a TKM charging for tanking your foes.

Unless a price is negotiated up front then you're right...in combat at least.
In a city, if solicited for heals whilst going about one's business, charging for healing and buffs is perfectly acceptable to most as you're taking time out of your game...
It's a very interesting philosophical debate...

Seani, I wish I could be able to always buff and woundheal for free, but I don't have the luxury of sugarmama alternate characters like you do. I have no business on how much you make, but I'm assuming with the other characters you own, it creates quite a profit for you. So, I see you have no need for extra credits when you are playing your doc.
And I see no reason why that some docs shouldn't charge for their heals when they have no other way to make credits other than trying to earn it with the combat prof. they have left (like me).Although I agree with you on some things, I see no reason why a doc has to charge credits within his/her group because I think that's silly.
You can still be a true doc and still charge a fair fee sometimes if you're courteous enough to ask for it.
Since I started Seara many months ago, I earned 4millions with her, and most of that went to new resources...
Thing is... I dont waste credits really... If I need something, I go out and grab it myself. I would never dream of purchasing something I can loot. Most of our weapons are worth millions, but we built them ourself, just by going out there and get it. We had this one time (at band camp) where we spent a week finding Nym Vibro Motors. We used them to create a whole package of Vibroknucklers that did 210-220 damage. Everyone in my guild had one. We had like 20 of them... How much did they cost to produce? Well, we payed 200k in total... and we actually ended up on plus since we did so many missions to get them.
All in our guild have 2 Aakuan rings... grouphunt on Talus. Most of my pistols (When Seana was a Pistoleer) where crafted out of components I found myself and had sliced, and trust me, thoose where groovy
As a doctor, by joining in on a group and get yourself out there you get 10k per mission, regardless of the size of the group (yes, they have changed that). In a good grindinggroup of 8 people, thoose missions go faaaast, and you dont even need to do anything yourself. Just keep people healed and buffed and you have done your share.
