Since the CU, I have not seen a really big need for my doctor. I am thinking about taking her out of the profession completely. Can someone please reply to this and give me a valid reason for keeping my doctor besides a res and healing wounds? At Master Doctor, there is no reason why I need to sit somewhere and heal wounds. The people I feel sorry for are those who are looking for a Doctor to do just that very thing. My suggestion is to find a jedi who is a healer to heal your wounds
I found a few.
I also want to know how powerful are the heals. I was working up a character in CM and the heals seemed pretty weak. Please help me decide if this character is worth keeping.
Thanks,
Krystyana

I agree...really sad what they did to the profession. I understand the buffs were a bit much but the only way to get xp is to go with a group in combat...that is a bit ridiculous. Not that I am concerned because I am a master doc but that doesn't make anyone inspired to be a doctor.

LOL, I really feel your pain. With the nerfing of Creature Handlers again, I have finally given up on being an MCH after 2.5 years. The Creature Level system is absolutely retarded and as a Master Rifle, MCH, and a smattering of medic pre CU I was able to solo quite well and heal my wounds. Now post CU I'm aggro'd constantly plus I can't heal my wounds. Guess they really nerfed the idea of dabbling in other professions.
So I tried out Master Doc the other night and for what I do which is mainly JTL and minimal ground stuff, it meets my soloing needs quite readily. I really feel for the veteran docs cause it looks like all professions from crafters to combat soloers were nerfed. They have now forced us into an EQ2 style of play especially with the new ROTW and are forcing us to group. All I can say is that Docs are still greatly needed, especially more now that groups are getting incapped, killed and needing rezzes all the time.
Just trying out my new doc skills last night with a group on Lok and I was healing, and rezzing like a maniac. In a sense it was kinda nice being needed unlike my old MCH skills. So now I can solo low level missions for money while healing my own wounds while dying in space, and I can be of some valuable use to groups who desperately need docs.
Anyhow hope that helps, despite my despise for the new combat system.

I know how you feel. I have been a TKM/MDoc for a long time. When the CU hit I crunched the numbers and was hard-pressed to find a reason to keep Doc. Buffs were but a pale shadow of what they once were, crafting was gone, things looked grim.
The one saving grace would have been if I could heal like the Messiah. What did I get? Medic Bacta shot was doing @640 and the Docs own Bacta Jab did a puny 320. I was insulted. Thus entered the respec.
I tried various combinations (always keeping TKM) and some were good, some were bad. MRifleman was useless as most of its specials are glitched, MSwordsman was a damage dealing god. All this was testing solo as my guildies and I were having some scheduling conflicts and trouble with missions disappearing. Eventually I had pretty much decided on TKM/MSwordsman/Doc1000 (Doc 1000 for basis Bacta infusion). Good offense/defense with a smattering of damage/wound healing to keep me and others on the move. Then I started doing some missions with a buddy (he's a newer player, was only level 26 or so from a little carbineer) annd he was dropping like a fly before I got the hang of taunt. I decided to do a quick respec back to TKM/MDoc/Swordsman 0011 to save the time it took him to clone and truck back out for the hunt. Before I knew it a couple of guildies showed up and we had a full blown hunting party.
It was then that I descovered the value of Doc. Group missions mean more beasties at a nest which equals multiple aggros. At one point we spent 20 mins getting hit by 2 spawns that just happened to be within 40m of each other. I was running around like a spastic mongoose, healing and rezzing and taunting, Oh my!
It was beautiful.
I haven't had a hunt that good since I was just a little noob, surrounded by buddies, just trying to stay alive before we discovered buffs. We fought hard and were rewarded well (in money and Xp) and it was due to me. I kept the heavy hitters hitting hard and picked them up after the occasional disembowelling. All this let us avoid the creation of bitter, bitter clones and kept us on the move, in the thick of the action. If I was not there we would have fallen and been scattered to the four winds. I was shocked, they were grateful.
I'm keeping Master Doc. It is not the class it used to be but it is fun. And it is necessary.
