I'm a doctor/combat medic just like others, this means when the patch comes out, I can't ride a mount, because my character will be rendered useless. Can you find out what's going on with this? I beg of you, I will have your baby if you do.

I'm really not sure. Best thing to do would be to make a character on TC. I think there are mount terminals available on there today. I just can;t get on today to do any checking on any of this and I don't have any CM skills there to check ranged healing with anyways. I could only check regular stimming and anyone with novice medic could check that.

Several threads in the test server forum confirming that you cannot heal anything while mounted. I don't remember anyone mentioning ranged heals, although I don't see why that would work either. There are an extremely limited number of actions you can do while mounted. No surveying, no special attacks, no attacks at all while in gallop mode, no healing, no playing music, etc. Rather sad and does severely lessen the usefulness of mounts, especially since their speed is a lot slower than everyone hoped they would be.

This is an invalid argument because you're not "fast" when mounted in battle. Especially not as a combat medic with +50 terrain negociation given by the profession. Mounts slow down to "normal" speed when engaged in battle, except if you gallop. However if you gallop you can't fight at all so that doesn't count.

I am a MD and a wanna be CM (4,4,4,1).
It seems to me that Combat Medics ona mount should be allowed to heal at their normal range.
I'm not too sure I see why docs should though. Would you want a doc on horseback doing brain surgery on you?
Mind you, it would be great. It just does not appear to fit the doctor template.

Doctors are the slowest players in any group. The ability to heal on a mount would be a great way to get us "up to speed" I was on Kam missions with a group on Dath, and I cursed the almighty devs names for not allowing me to heal while mounted.
So, my question is this; healing on mounts, why not?

granted, I don't know how the game works behind the scenes, but it seems that poisons and diseases work on the same system as heals. It's on the same timer for example. Maybe they currently have no way to distinguish between a heal on a mount, or throwing a poison on a mount. Since I'm sure the devs don't want Combat Medic's getting a fast mount and galloping through an opposing faction town, tossing area diseases or area poisons, they probably have just decided not to allow any healing. Maybe if they figure a way to seperate heals from poison/disease then they will allow healing while mounted. That's just my theory though.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we can NOT heal while mounted. Me, and a CM in my PA have both tried, and neither of us could.
