I was dueling a CM friend this evening and no matter what i did I could'nt heal the poisons/diseases he was throwing at me , namley;

Thyroid Rupture

Electrolyte drain.

As a master doctor I tried all my antidotes and decomtaniation skills and just about any other button i could press.

Is this by design or am I missing an important fact here.

Thanks in advance

Interesting....I haven't had the honor of fighting a CM yet....but my assumption is that it's a bug related to the fact there is no poison and disease in the game other then CM. The fact remains that Docs have been and should continue to be the Anti-CM...so with that being said I would post this in Marrow's Bug List...

First off these are not poison/disease these do not do any damage. They are known as debuffs. Because they do not cause damage they can be applied while paralized without breaking paralize.

Nope, not a bug it is working as intended I believe. There isn't a cure. However, our buffs are a kind of counter for these debuffs though not a direct one-one.

BTW, Jedi Healers can not heal them either.

We can also not cure Sap (jedi version of T. Rupture) and neither can Jedi Healers.

Personally I thing docs make out better in this type of system were instead of being give a cure we are given a counter because the counter can still be applied resulting in a boost even if the alment is not applied. What I mean is that we are given Buffs for action, mind and speed the very things the are impacted by T. Rupture, for example, but we can apply these counters to give a boost to those attributes when T. Rupture is not involved.

If on the other hand we were not give buffs for these states and instead given cures for debuffs then we would only be useful when the state was a applied as is the case with say poison cures. You only need to be around to cure poison if there is a risk of being poison so there is no bonus when we are not being poisoned.

One could argue that B. Infusion is a counter to poison. If someone is poisoned and has B. infusion going there you would not see a change in health (assuming duration and power were matched which of course they are not). So in the case of poison we are not only give a cure but a counter as well.

Let me put it to you this way, E. Drain slows a person movement. Give the choice would you rather I lobby for a movement buff or a cure to E. Drain. Personally, I would much rather have a movement buff.

I think this is a fundimental thing. It's a de-buff, not a poison. As in, they just gave you a negitive buff, rather than a positive one. Electrolyte Drain, Thyroid Rupture, etc etc all change a stat for a duration, they do not actually cause damage.

I see where you're coming from of course. When I apply these wonderful nasty things I see the poison swirls on my opponent, but it's not actually causing you damage, like poison, fire, or disease.

I do agree with marrow though, I'd rather see a buff given to doc than a cure for the de-buff given.
