Thread: resources needed for buffs
For Subcomponents:
- Lokian Wild Wheat - This is used to make advanced biological effect controllers which are, in turn, used to make nearly everything a doctor can make. Docs need tons of this.
- Tatooinian Fiberplast - Use with the Lokian Wild Wheat. Need tons of this, but it's not as difficult to get.
- Herbivore Meat - As most doctors aren't great fighters, this is one that they almost always need.
- Class 4 Liquid Petro Fuel - Don't get this mixed up with any of the others. It must be CLASS 4 LIQUID PETRO FUEL. Nothing else will do.
- Dolovite Iron - Usually not as high in demand, but this is used to make medpacks and enhancement packs.
- Domesticated Oats - Goes along with the Dolovite Iron
Most important to have highest quality for good buffs:
- Avian Meat
- Reactive Gas

Make sure to use ADVANCE sub componentsin all your buffs. Agent has listed the items for them in his response to your post.
The wheat and fiberplast are for Advanced Bio Effect Controllers.
Dolovite Iron and domesticated oats for Advance Solid Delivery Shells
Herb meat and class IV are for Advanced Chemical Release Duration Mechs.
The dolovite iron and class IV are the only 2 things that are not readily available so grab them when they spawn every spawn (even if the quality is poor).
The most challenging crafting from a resource perspective is on buffpacks, and that's also likely the crafting you will find most important unless you happen to be a stimpack merchant.
Here's a little more info about resource quality, intended for buff-making only.D level buffs require:
- Avian Meat (action buffs can use other organics if you like but avian works for them too*)
- Reactive Gas (action buffs can use other organics if you like but avian works for them too*)
- Advanced Biological Effect Controllers (must be factory produced, need 2 or 3 with same serial # per pack)
- Advanced Chemical Release Duration Mechanisms (must be factory produced, need 2 with same serial # per pack)
- Advanced Solid Delivery Systems (1 per pack so you can make them by hand if you want to... but you really don't want to)
*Ideally, your whole set of buffpacks will have the same duration. Using the same avian meat, reactive gas and subcomponents in all packs includingactionis the simplest way to achieve that.
To get the quality of buffpacks you want, you need high quality resources. If you look at any schematic in your datapad, it tells you what stats matter in the resources. Here's the breakdown for buffpacks:
Avian Meat -Look forOQ and PE.DR has some bearing on duration only, but you needOQ andPE for effectiveness andPE is especially important because reactive gas has noPE to get averaged in.
Reactive Gas: look for OQ especially but alsoDR (again duration)
AdvancedBEC's take Lokian Wild Wheat (OQ and PE) and Tatooine Fibreplast (needOQ and UT)
Advanced CRD's take Herbivore Meat (OQ and PE) and Class 4 Liquid Petro (OQ)
Advanced SDS's take Domesticated Oats (OQ and PE) and Dolovite Iron (OQ)
You can ignore all the rest of the stats on your buff-making resources. Nice-tasting avian meat may seem appealing, but high Flavor won't help your buffs. ![]()
