Thread: Are doc aprons bugged?

I bought an apron with +5 on assembly and +5 on experimentation (listed in that order).


I passed it over to one of our doctors who has the other necessary tapes to get the addional points (10 experimentation points) needed to get the 1 crafting experimentation point, but it seems that only assembly is kicking in. He said he testedit left and right. Any of you all notice too? any advice?

Did the Doc put the tapes into different items of clothing? 2 or more skill tapes with the same mod, in the the same item of clothing, cancel each other out.

Two or mods in the same item will not cancel. Only the highest tape will stick. So if you friend put a +1 tape, for example, into the apron it is lost and useless becuase the +5 already in the apron will be the only one that sticks.


Also, make sure he did not put the tape in something that uses the same "vest" slot that the apron uses or you will not be able to wear it at the same time.


I have an apron and 5 other items each with a +1 tape and they all add up to +10 and I do get the 11 exp points as expected.

The apron sit at +5/+5 just as it did from vendor with the free sockets still open. The other tapes were not added to apron, Maybe the problem is with the skill tapes..hmm. I guess im trying to rule out the apron assuming it hasn't been touched after the tailor made it....so if you are all doing good with the aprons, then i guess the order of the skills on apron is not an issue and should work fine.

Was one of the Medicine XP skill tapes part a secondary mod on a tape. For instance, if you have a single tape with:
Combat Med Use +4
Medicine Experimentation +3
then the Combat Med Use +4 will actually stick, and the Med XP will essentially disappear. There are ways to get the Med XP to work in this case, but not once the skill tape is used.
