Thread: How about a compromise: Doc buff mind stats. SL or Entertainer heals?

How about a compromise,

Let docs buff mind stats and let SL or entertainers heal it.

You could allow SL or entertainers heal about half the amount a doc can heal action or health. But working together Doc mind buffs and SL or entertainers healing. should equal a reguler action/health stim from a good doc.

Team work. - You need 2 professions to get the job done.

we talking the same buff as an enhancement pack? Would be way overpowered. my D enhances hit for 700-2500. hmm 3500 mind, 3300 willpower 3300 focus maxed. I would rather see entertainers be able to heal mind with stims (50-200 max) in combat than this.

Hullo,
Most people don't seem to know this, but. . . Musicians and Dancers (not entertainers though) get mind buffs. If you watch a Master Musician for more than 15 minutes, your focus and willpower get buffed. And Dancers buff the mind pool. Combined with Food/Drink/Spice, you can get a really decent amount of Mind/Focus/Will.

Yeah... but the food lasts about 3 minutes, and the dancing buffs last only about twice as long as you watched the entertainer... so like 30 min. Frankly, it takes me that much time just to GET to the mobs. Dunno what I really want (I know a willpower buff of 1500 would make doctors invincible...) but as a Mon Cal with maxed mind stats, I still find myself vulnerable to mind assaults... something should be done.

And no, this is not the riflemen's fault.

Well, you do raise a good point. I think the duration on musician/dancer buffs needs to be increased a bit, because with such short durations, they will sometimes wear off before you get to your hunting spot, and they require you to sit such a long time to get the buff. As far as food buffs, I have no problem with their durations because you can eat the food within seconds before attacking.

Yeah... it's just that chef buffs suck (compared to ours) and they have to work as hard as weaponsmiths or architects... and NOBODY wants their food. Why should we? Aside from the minor mind buffs, chefs are useless.

I feel competent already buffing two pools. Let's give this new, awesome power to the poor, underappreciated chefs! Keep the power high (like our buffs) but the duration low. Docs everywhere would be searching for the best chef willpower buffs!

I think that they should just change the dancer/musician buff to a long duration and change it to an targetted skill so that they can make money from it rather than give it free to anyone that's in view. Then give a mind heal to chefs and give the SL a group mind regen bonus.

I fully agree. Give docs mind buffs or heals, and don't add some fourth pool that heals draw from, and you'll make docs invincible. Give the poor chefs some love and make their buffs more worthwhile!

Chefs need som loving, we all know that, but they already have Mind Buffs, they just need to be tweaked.

Smuggler spice works, but has some pretty haefty drawbacks for maybe 1/3 of the buff a Doc gives for a tiny farction of the time a Doc buff lasts (all of 10 mintues) and leves you at half mind with negative secondaries for 3.5 more minutes that then stick at 150 until you eat something anyway. Blech.

Entertainer buffs, too short and too small.

Since it sems apparent that Entertainers have the similar buff drawbacks to a Doc, they should be comparable o a Docs buffs.

You think a Doc with maxed Will is invincible? What about a Carbineer with Maxed Stamina? They are just as invincible, believe me, but somehow that's ok, where helping out Docs isn't. Go figure.

Give Entertainers Doc-level and style buffs for Mind.

Chef consumables are presumably getting a pass over to perhaps enhance their effects and durations. So hopefully their foods will be seen as worthwhile in the near future.

As for mind buffs, that is what the entertainers do. They simply need to add in, like someone said above, a notion that I've been backing for quite some time... a focused ability that the entertainer has to specifically target someone and provide them the Mind Buff. And the ammount and duration MUST be on the same level as Doctor Buffs.

SL should still be given a bonus a bonus to HAM wound defense as well as regen rates.

But mind damage healing should be ours.
