Thread: Something about the boards

On most of these boards all I read is complaints and whining
rants. When I was looking for possible professions to choose there was
precious little to find on these boards to help guide me as all I read was
how none of the professions were what people thought them to be.
I'm going to buck this trend and say that my decision to pursue a
medical profession is one I've never regretted. Moving though medic was
fun, steady and hassle free. That's a key to me because I want to enjoy
the profession I play not be stressed by it or feel I have a second
job. I think this is the plight of the artisans currently.
I just got novice doctor and I'm looking forward to moving through
the tree despite the leeriness on my part of the factory aspect and the
increasing difficulty of the pre-req resources to make high end
medicines. I love being a medic and I'm very glad I chose to start helping out
in med center. I wanted to give one of these boards a much needed shot
of positivity.

Sad that no one bumped this yet. I say good job and enjoy your new profession.

Yes, I must admit that being in the Medic / Doctor profession has got to be the most rewarding professions, both personally and socially. I picked up Medic since I knew that medics are important and yet viewed as being dull or not as fun as being a all out killing machine. It started hard, making puny meds that heal for 50-70 and taking half an hour to heal someones half black HAMs.

The other day I reached Master Surgeon and now im the most popular guy in my guild (since im the only doctor), not only can I stim thier HAM's up to 100% in one shot, I can now revive them from the dead and save them the wounds and long run back to the hunt. One of my guild mates even told me that having me around is like the difference between night and day.

I like to feel that I make a difference, and being a medic certainly does that for me & my guild.

I think most of the negative comments are just part of the need we have to just make things better and this is a good place to make that statement.

Sure Docs have issues, but I love the profession too. Heck every character I've made even back in Beat has at least have Medic skills and Doctor is what I consider my primary professsion no matter what other professions I maytry out. So despite some of the negativity you end up reading around here, it's most likely just because we care and enjoy what we are doing.

For myself, most of my negativity comes from trying to better these Medical Professions, and seemingly failing at each and every step along the way from Beta to now.

All I want is what I, personally, think is best for the professions and I will continue to post whatever will help us all. I have enjoyed the game at times, and being praised by PA mates for being the 'uber doc' has actually been really, really great.

But that doesn't mean I won't keep fighting for the profession

I love my master doctor and would never give it up! I love being able to heal 600+ wounds in a single shot. Sometimes I turn on my Novice medic tag and I sit in the hospital and I can almost hear their jaws hit the floor when a "novice medic" pops off a 550 point wound heal

Doctor is definitly the way to go for a character that is respected. I have yet to go out with a hunting party and fail to get thanks from everyone involved. As for medcenters, well I just don't end up there very often. I agree with most people about the reason for posting in a negative fashion is for the betterment of the profession, just like a budget, if you don't spend it all they make it smaller next year, so we have to make some noise so they don't think we have no issues or are to comfortable.

For serious griping I usually hit the Combat Medic's board, they have a far harder lot than us Doc's.
