Q: What do you see as the biggest problem facing the medic professions?

A: <silence>

Q: Oh, hrm. Well, what is your intended vision for the various medic professions?

A; <silence>

Q: Oooookay. Well, what about the various little crafting typo bugs, how'd that go unnoticed so long?

A: <silence>

Q: /knockwood

A:<silence>

Q: Why is it that the elite medic professions have such exotic resource requirements, but no way to fulfill them without the Artisan skill?

A: <silence>

Q: Well, maybe you can at least tell us whether or not Sony is aware that the Doctor correspondent is having to pull double duty, since the CM correspondent quit. (And he's doing an awesome job by the way, in case you didn't notice)

A: <silence>

Q: Did I mention that I'm a creature handler?

A: Really? Cool!!

Q: no not really

Being a doctor is, to me, fun and interesting as long as you can fight in groups that don't use pets.

As if you could find groups like that on any real basis. Stupid pets. Even if you didn't need the XP anyway, healing some great big Rancor once in a blue moon with a Stim-E is hardly exciting. I didn't sign up to bea vet!!

The problem with Master Doctor is there's no longer anything to look forward to. A Master BH can at least look forward to some phat lewt drop that makes his ridiculously overpowered weapons even more ridiculously overpowered. Or some rare armor componet or something. Doctors get jack. What can they even give us? Drop a really nice Advanced Liquid Suspension? Oh yes, I'll make a fine Stim-B with that, let me tell you.

Unfortunately I don't really have an idea on what a Master Doctor should be looking forward to. In real life, they mostly look forward to helping people and/or making a lot of money. I guess if that's not enough for you, then you probably shouldn't be a doctor. In EQ, a maxed out cleric looked forward to cleric armor, snazzy things that helped his regeneration rates and so forth, usually obtained by healing a lot during a big group raid. I imagine SWG will get to implementing stuff like that eventually.

Hey, Eli, don't get discouraged by posts like that. We have our issues like every other profession, but I doubt we would be making fun of it like that so darned much if we didn't actually care about the profession. At least most people who get into Doc seem to like it if they liked what they were doing to get there (healing, resing and buffing, mainly.) It is a prety good profession overall, even if the Devs have tended to ingore us. At least Docs aren't as broke as DEs and even CMs have been, to name a couple of medical professions.

Pecos, if you want some of the fun back, get into a smaller group with less pets and hit the advanced planets. Even with trying ot heal the pets, it's a real challenge working between a player doing pulls (to keep them up until the pets get aggro) and those pets. Not to mention keeping an eye out for adds and helping orchestrate when seom folks need to get out of the fray (sinc eI tend to watch their HAM bars more than they do. ) So smaller groups can be a lot of fun, still.

It is kind of boring when just one pet has aggro though, then once it gets pulled from the fight just some other pet takes their place.
