Thread: Any Doctors out there without factories?

I'm working my way up the Doctortree but I don't play often enough to be able to tend to or pay for all the factories and whatnot necessary to make identical components. I like the freedom of being able to craft my own meds and boosts (and eventually resus packs) but I don't know if it's possible. Any suggestions?

I have a factory but rarely use it. I throw it up once in awhile to make factory crates of advanced components, and keep those in my house or pack. When I need a HQ stim, I use the crated subcomponents(and you need factory BEC's anyway). This really cuts down on the bother of making stims, and you get a fairly consistent batch.

We have some very talented docs on my server that use HQ components and have good prices, so I just buy my enhance and res packs from them. They make my life much easier!

I don't see a need to run a factory unless you're going to mass-produce stim B's or doc meds for sale. I don't have a vendor (all my other skill points are in combat) so selling these would be time-consuming.

never hada factory and most like never will. Im a doctor not a pharmasutical company. Going up the crafting tree with out a factory can take a while, but you might as well use that time to experiment on meds with diffrent materials and learn your profession. No pain no gain.

I am not a crafting doc but I've got a factory. It saves me time and space.

Time because I dont spend hours crafting Adv BEC etc...I craft one schematic put it in my factory and few hours later, I got enough BECs for at least a week.

Space because a crate of 50 does not take much space in my inventory, not like 3-4 BECs ready to be assembled. It's an important factor for me considering I've got some pretty annoying inventory space problems.

It's also nice to be able to use it to give my friends a crate of stim B's in a few hours.

Besides, it does not cost much to keep it unused.

I have 4 factories (yes, 4). I only have 4 because I have a very demanding pharmaceutical business, but even before I did I had a factory. Not only are they needed to make the higher-end meds, but they're fantastic for storage. A factory holds more items than a small or medium house, and uses half the lots.

Many times have I run batches of 500 or more Advanced LS's or BECs, and I just leave them in the output hopper until I use each one.

With all the new cities up now..you might want to join one and talk to other master doctors in that city. They would probably let you use there factories if you needed it. I have 2 factories up right now and anyone in my city that needs to use them is welcome to.

I have not had a factory... playing since release,I ground my way to master doctor the long way.. I just never thought of getting one. Now that I am independtly wealthy I can afford one but I still prefer to find players out there with the want and need to have good quality components and buy off them (a chore sometimes due to the number of players leaving and coming because of their game experience)

You can get by without a factory, but you will be missing out on some of the more advanced components. Things such as stim D's and higher, enhance D's, etc (I'm not logged right now, otherwise I could give you a more complete list). These require identical sub-components (BE controllers, chem mechs, etc. ).

Only solution I can think of is to buy a crate or two of each from another doctor to make these products for yourself.
